My Wii is pretty quiet so I'm not real sure. Maybe your drive is going bad? Does it happen constantly or only when you first start the disc?

I've had that happen a few times with certain games but haven't had it happen in a while. Does it do that for every game?

It is definitely something with the console. I'm not sure if this would help any but have you tried cleaning it?

If I put a game in I don't hear anything, If it is just your wi and it's been doing that ever since you bought it then it may be normal if not, then I woud try to figure out what the problem is and If you can't fix it, you can call nintendo and have them fix it for you.

If there are any technical issues with the Wii, it's the disc drive. Mine makes the same buzzing sound.

Yes. If its still under warranty, call it in PRONTO! I got my Wii back in less than a week! Mine made this noise before dying.

I had the same problem. I sent my system into Nintendo and got a new one with all my VC games to boot. Phone up Nintendo's customer service(they rock) even if your warranty has expired. You may have to pay 75 bucks for them to fix it but it'll be damn worth it. I hated that bloody noise.

I've heard of people who send their Wiis to Nintendo to fix the noise.. Mine does a little bit of noice that i notice especially in quiet moments of games (those quiet momentos that could in fact increase the suspense so i admit it could get annoying for some people) but it's not that disturbing for someone who's used to the PCs ventilation and drive "bzoooom".

My Wii's disk drive makes an unreasonable level of noise as well with the only relief coming when I am using an online channel (i.e. the drive is turned off). I called customer service and they said they would fix it for $81.75 including tax. I happen to live about 15 minutes from their Redmond, WA headquarters, hence the tax. It's possible there's no tax on out of state Wiis & the $75 mentioned in a prior post could be right.

Anyway, they also said if I brtought it in to them they usually have them fixed in about an hour so I would think if you shipped it to them you'd only be out the shipping time & there's not much delay once it reaches them. Good luck.

It could be dust too, if you clean out the Wiis internal cooling fan that might stop the nose :D

So I drove my Wii out to Nintendo HQ today & they fixed it in a little over an hour. Best of all, the guy at the counter looked at my Wii, commented how it looked well taken care of & replaced the disk drive free of charge despite the warranty being up long ago.

I can not say anything bad about Nintendo's customer service. This was the best customer service I've ever received.

Mine makes noise when loading games aswell. I bought it back in Febuary 2007 so it's probably an earlier model.

There is nothing wrong with it though, it works 100% perfect.
