Wii Fit would GS have given it a better review if it was a regular priced game?

Do you think that would have helped it get better than a 7.0? It's still a decent score and I intend to get Wii Fit. However I'm sure that Nintendo would consider that a disappointing score considering the amount of marketing they have placed behind this game. Do you think that Nintendo should have bit the bullet by pricing this at or close to a normal new release game and realized that the balance board alone will attract game developers to make new and possibly revolutionary games for the Wii?

probably not, but if it did it would only go up 0.5 points.

1. Scores don't matter when it comes to games. Companies especially don't care

2. The game is pretty much perfect for what it's designed to do.

Take a look at what they said was good........

  • Balance board is a great new peripheral
  • Exercises will help your balance and strength
  • Beats the repetitiveness of going to the gym
  • Some fun balance board games
  • Pleasant presentation throughout.

So they think the board is great, it actually helps you, makes working out fun, fun games, and nice presentation

And now the bad....

  • No way to create your own exercise program
  • You're forced to unlock most of the activities
  • Some games are rather shallow
  • Health and fitness assessments can be problematic
  • Board is sensitive, but you can still cheat at exercises.
They set you on the exercise path they choose, unlocking events, some games are deep, you need to know something about your own health before you start, and you can do it wrong.

The 7 is invisible to what the game did right.

Perhaps I'm missing something here but they didn't score it yet?!? Anyways, they are probably not in shape enough to enjoy it...

Gamespot scored Boom Blox a 7.0... If Wii Fit is a 7.0 then it should be awesome because Boom Blox is.

I no longer consider Gamespot a creditable source for a review because they do not seem like they take innovation and fun factor into account when reviewing a new game. Play the games and decide for yourself.

I never expected Wii Fit to score an 8 or higher, anyway... so no, price wasn't a factor considering they liked the Balance Board.

But who cares? Wii Fit is kind of like Wii Sports and Wii Play... people will buy it because it's innovative and fun (Wii Sports) or because it comes with a device which is worth the price (Wii Play).

I think it sucks even if they gave it away for free. (Like Wii Sports)

Wii Fit (just like all of the half-games that rely heavily on motion controls) was doomed from the start. It wasn't ever going to get a good rating, but it's hard to judge a game like this fairly because it is so different from everything else.

I think the intagibles should have raised the score a little bit, but it doesn't matter too much.
