My Wii has been doing 2 weird things. From time to time, I will hear a really loud grinding noise when I go to the main menu on the Wii. And something else just happened. I was playing Wii Sports, and suddenly the game froze. There was also a loud humming sound that wouldn't stop. It wouldn't respond to any buttons. The only thing I could do was unplug the Wii. Has anything like this happened to any one else?
Each time the gamecube and the wii froze, they always make that loud stupid sound. And any game can freze.
If the sound that the Wii does when going from a channel to the menu is a clipping sound then I think it's normal. Not sure what you mean by grinding sound.
both have happened to me, and another thing ive noticed after the update is that my wii SOMETIMES freezes at the warning thing when u turn on the wii (only for like 3 seconds)
I had that happen the day I got my Wii and I started panicing but I've had no problems sence so I wouldn't worry too much about it just reload the game and it should work fine.
same here..after the update the internet channel starting freezing...then the warning for the strap before SPORTS starts stayed on the screen longer than usual.... not sure if its the update....maybe next update fixes it.

yeah. exact same thing happned 2 mine, ive sent it back to nintendo cause it falls within warrenty, they'll either repare it or replace it completely, takes about 3-4wks though, but im not riskin the wii completely dying after warrenty
I've had a game freeze on my Wii before. Also, one thing that I noticed is periodically when the wii is turned of the disk drive is glowing blue. It usually flashes blue but i doubt it is normal to glow blue when it is turned off. Does anyone know anything about this?
