I don't know what regions this'll happen in, considering they didn't entirely say. But if it does happen in all available regions. Awesome. And for those who paid the 500 Wii points for it, get a free NES game. That's a good way to pay you back.

Lol, I probably won't really be taking advantage of the deal, seeing as the computer is in the same room,(currently), with my Wii and TV. I'll probably get a new NES game eventually off the Wii Shop Channel, though.

The update says any 500 point NES game. Not sure there is any benefit for us who got the channel before it had cost though....maybe an oversight but likely dealing with Nintendo not wanting to take money out of their system.

All I can say is it feels nice for Nintendo to realize that the same $250 isn't as valuable as it used to be. This move is to add value and get people using their service for free, which is what they need to get people to buy one.

This is great!! I can't wait to get my free NES game, and I already know what I'm getting, but how does Nintendo know who paid forInternet Channel?

What I can't believe is that Nintendo is actually compensating for those who already bought it. I'm going to sound like a stupid fanboy for saying it but that kind of thing is unheard of on PSN or Xbox Live. If I buy a game at full price on Live and it becomes free the next day, I get love nor do I expect any...

The internet channel on the Wii is pretty pointless. It's slow and hard to use, really just like using a mobile phone browser on a huge screen. I have only used it maybe 5 or 6 times in the past couple of years. I do like the news channel, however.
