is this something to buy to connect to the internt and virtual console? and what do i need to use this? thanks in advance :D

You don't need it if you've got WiFi. Do you have WiFi?

Do you have DSL? If yes then you could use the LAN adapter to connect to the internet all you'll need is the adapter and an ethernet cord.

Just hook up the LAN adapter to the Wii and the make the ethernet cable run from the adapter to the modem and you should be good to go.

Glad I found this. I came here just now to ask how to connect my Wii to the Internet. Thanks everyone! I'll look for the LAN adaptar next time I'm in town.
