I dont care what u guys think but im a wii owner and i want a halo caliber game on the wii, and don't go ranting on "get a 360 then" cause imo one console per gen is more than enough, u shouldn't have to choose a console based on games, a console should have games that appeal to everyone.

If you wanted a Halo now, get a 360. If not, wait for Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 or something else. Posting here won't get you a Halo. We have to wait and see what unfolds.

Yes. You should pick a console that will supply the games you want, or else you should just buy more than one console. That's what the majority of us do.

And besides, this has already been discussed about six-thousand times (slight exaggeration).

Im not spending $700 on a 360 and miscellaneous start up costs included. Why can't nintendo just make a new series, with hype and everything, something not done before, just brand new concept all together, new story, new characters, new everything, no links to the past(punn).

And that "you shouldn't base a console on games" mentality you have...is all false. Because that's why most of us purchase different consoles, because of the wide variety of games "each" console has to offer. I have all 3 consoles, and they all supply me with all the genres, types, and styles of games I want. It's perfect, if I didn't have all three I'd be missing out on alot of games. If you want a Halo buy a 360, it's that simple. Change your mind about only having one console if you're dying for a Halo, because it won't happen...period.

"I could make Halo. It's not that I couldn't design that game. It's just that I choose not to. One thing about my game design is that I never try to look for what people want and then try to make that game design. I always try to create new experiences that are fun to play." ~ Shigeru Miyamoto

Found it on IGN...

I sort of agree with sherbert-lime. Nintendo could use a Halo but Brawl is coming out and I'm already planning on camping out for that game.

Please don't take this the wrong way but don't you understand that no one cares if you can't own more then one console?

I'm not thrilled in the least that you don't have the funds to get all the consoles you want but that's just how it works. This is gaming in 2007, either adapt or stop. Those are the only choices you have.

By "a halo game", do you mean a general game that will cause long lines and hype for a game that's similar to it's predecessor? In that case, Brawl will be the Wii's Halo....or Galaxy. If you mean a shooter...then idk

The first developer that can create a multiplayer game as fun as Goldeneye, using Metroid Prime 3's controls, will make a mint.

Other than the FPS view Halo and Metroid have nothing in common in my opinion.

The MP3game is more about platforming and adventure elements and fighting the next boss. Halo's jus about going to point A to point B and shoot lots and lots of stuff on the way.

No. Nintendo should make their own Sci-fi FPS specifically for the Wii that features online multiplayer. As good as Metroid Prime 3 is, it lacks multiplayer.

Do you not understand that Nintendo has a limited amount of this so-called money and resources that they have to create and fund games at their disclosure? Microsoft and Bungie put millions of dollars and all of their available resources into this one game called Halo. Why is the Xbox 360 such a failure in Japan? Let me answer that by answering another question. What games have Microsoft or its second-party divisions put resources into that were aimed at the casual player? Let me list them: Viva Piñata... that's it.

So do realize that games like this just don't come as a necessity to the system. At this point, a third-party developer is going to have to create what you call a "Halo" for the Wii because Nintendo does not have the manpower or resources to do so.

Read what he said, Halo caliber game in otherwise acomplete package, online, multiplayer, co-op good story, so far wii games have only really been picking one or 2 of those features and therefore have been recieved badly.

It lacks multiplayer because it's not a game that's meant to be played by multiple people. Again, Nintendo doesn't have the resources to branch out into a different genre of gaming that they aren't accustomed to, (aside from Geist), and this "Sci-fi FPS" that you speak of will have to come from a third-party developer.

I think Retro's next project could be an FPS with a strong multiplayer componet. They have a lot of people there with experience in the FPS genre. Of course I think there is also a very strong chance that it will be an adventure game, but I'm leaning towards FPS at the moment.

i was just thinkin about this the other day. i was very deppressed because i only have a wii and there was halo 3 wich i wanted. all my friends have 360s and im the only one with a wii. i was sad for a while. then it struck me. who gives a care about halo 3. gta, call of duty, gears of war. sure there great games, but wii has character. mario, zelda, metroid and way more. Wii's halo is Brawl by the way. sure halo will give wii a run for its money. but the question is, will brawl. in my opinion it will apeal to harcore gamers. mainly the once who have played the original smash bros.

This is it. Halo. Brawl. Lets see who wins this fight.

PS: this the last halo. yeah it has xbox live and yes, it will play on for a long time. but people will get over the game. and where will they go then?

Wii is currently pretty weak game-wise, but Brawl and galaxy are coming.... Even though a console can't live with Mario, Zelda and Metroid only, they're worty of purchase.....

Dosen't Microsoft own Bungie or something like that? I think it would have to be microsoft's decision but I think it might be fun even though the graphics wouldn't be as good as xbox 360 halo

Maybe OP thinks we need a game with a hype train the size or even bigger where we have our own version of a drink, our own lables on burgerking french fries, multiple cable channels having a bunch of programing sponsered by it, launch events bigger then new years eve... yeah I don't think we can compete with that because Nintendo's money doesn't grow on trees like Microsoft .

I originally misinterpreted the topic. There's three Halo-caliber games this year for the Wii and one of them has already come out.

Halo Sucks i hate that game and Xbox it self i think it is all crap and right now the Wii is the best thing out there come on now all that the wii needs to do is to kick it up and have good ONLINE playing games (not halo) but really i dont think there is a point to having a Xbox360 or an Xbox it is the same ppl that make your computer why dont u just go out and get a computer that can run the games not that different same people make them and a PC is much better the 360 By far but the Wii has more Technology in it then both other systems put together

The problem is that, when you mention Halo, you implicitly invite people to bring the 360 into the conversation. That's off-topic by definition. If you want to talk about the need for a high-caliber FPS, that's fine, but please do not make comparisons other consoles and/or their games, especially a flagship like Halo. Thanks.
