Wonder what the WiiSpeak compatibility is for.

THat is good news. I didn't think they would ever upgrade it. It would be nice if those of us who got the first version for free did not have to pay for this upgrade but I can see why they would charge us so things will get evened out with those who paid before.

Will it have upgraded flash? That's what I want the most, for this browser update.epayps2

If you've already paid 500 points, you upgrade for free.

If you got the Internet Channel for free, you have to pay 500 points for the upgrade.

This is a way of charging people who didn't pay the first time.

As a person who got the first one free, I'm pretty upset about this.
imo NO ONE should have to pay for this upgrade. And no one should have had to pay for the first browser either.

According to your logic, it'd be perfectly okay for the people who bought the game within the first month, to get the DLC for free.

While everyone else has to pay. 

But it's okay because those people were early adopters?

The only reason I have the browser is because it was free. I don't use it much so I have better things to spend 500 points on, but the updates seem alright.

this is purely speculation on behalf of user of go nintendo and gamespot, nintendo themselvea haven't even public announced it yet so we will just have to wait and see

and besides remember there was the beta version which was free, then the update to the final version was free, and then there was a update that gave the whole cut and paste among other features and that was free for those who downloaded the original

That Update was simply just a console update.  It has nothing to do with whether you had to purchase the update software or not.  The Internet Channel 2.0 will work the same way as Photo Channel 1.1.  It will be in the Shop channel so you can download the patch onto your console.  Though I'm unsure whether the Internet Channel 2.0 will be a patch or a completely different channel when it releases.

If users that received the original Internet channel for free will have to pay for the upgrade, then I wouldn't mind doing so.  Flash updates would be very nice. :)

The previous update (1.1) downloaded fine. No reason to assume this won't. There may not even be a mechanism in place to determine this.

That is a rather curious feature. It might be as simple as integrating it into the flash player (some flash games do have mic input). Or perhaps Opera is putting in some fancy voice controls.

Ps3 is only usable when you hook up a mouse and a keyboard, but that defeats the whole "lay-down in the couch web-surfing", so you might as well  just browse from your pc then. You would experience a lot less memory crashes and less Js/XML/Ajax compatibility issues, issues that Opera doesn't have. ;)

You seem to have missed my entire point. The point is: no one should have to pay for the internet channel, ever. No one, regardless of when you bought your Wii should have to pay one penny for the browser.

If you got the browser in the 1st place, or you already buy it, this upgrade is free. 

or in teh words of kotaku`s staff, here : The browser should be available for 500 Wii Points, but existing owners should be able to get a free upgrade once the app is released in December.
