Last week I was just planning my next day to go and buy a PS3, wasnt 100 percent sure if I wanted one but out of the 3 consoles (xbox, wii, ps3) couse it was the one that I thought to be the best for me, wich it probably is, but later same day I got an call from my bigger brother who's studying all the way up in Lulea (as north as you can get in sweden where there is still population :D ) and he wanted to sell his Wii, for a considerable cheap price for the things coming along, but yet something you should think over whit the current price on a new xbox360 and PS3. Wii console 2x remotes with nunchucks Games: Wii sports Super mario brothers(that remade 1 where you can play 4 players classic mario) Super smash Brawl Super mario Galaxy Theese are my opinions, not at all based on any specific facts, only what i actually know and think. (exaggeration may occur, bare with me) My picture of a Wii is a family/kid console with weak games and weak performance and millions of havetoget gagdets to make games playable, wich of my calculations, is a serious dent in the wallet for such console, while ps3 only need controllers Nintendo mascots f-ing everuwhere -- Not many exiting games Im intrested of, that are not based on Mario or sonic. Metroid and zelda are great game francices I've grown up with, but are still Nintendo mascots that the nintendo machine keeps smashing up anything possible off, mario and sonic is the biggest victims in this case. Super smash brawl is an option, but Ive tired myself with beating every friend owning this game and meele, yet i have only owned the good old super smash bro 64. So its probably, as Yathzee from Zero Punctuation told on his videos, its a constant minifighting grinding and not really much content overall. Any game I've checked to the Wii seems heavily broken down compared to what Ps3 and xbox get in their verisions of the game. I could use some help finding some unique games for the wii, that is a must get for some1 who likes a well made game. Exceptions: No Mario games No sonic games Im already avare of current and upcoming Metroid and Zelda titles. No f-ing sports/cooking/pets/kids games containing 1/10 of what wii sports contain (what ive seen there is BILLIONS of them) If you know any good games please tell, or persuade me into getting a wii before an PS3 What I get if i buy an PS3 Loads of great titles that I would like to play, dont even need to look after them, they find me. lol Blueray Compability with my HD-Screen in my room. Music/video/network and other functions I'm familiar with from my old PSP, only times better. Less money (still not sure if that is true compared to a playable/equipped Wii) PS: Money is not realy an issue, but if you think saving money and getting a wii(If that is even possible without buying all the gagdets) is a huge benefit in this case and/or a good reason to buy it over an PS3(or xbox) Thank you for your time! /Wallrickwallrick

Depends how your looking at it I use my Wii for more single games unless people are over some multi player but if you want something for more online and all that I would get the PS3.
Nice list, reminded me of some titles. But yet there are many games here originally created on a ps3 and is probably broken down as some games I've seenLong thread but I can already tell you your assumptions of the Wii is pretty wrong.

I much preffer my Wii to my PS3. Mostly because Nintendo seems to know exactly how to inject fun directly into my pleasure centre.
Also, I love platformers to a scary degree and Nintendo does them better than anyone else. they're actually one of the few developers that even try to make them any more
It depends on what you're looking for really.
If you want a good singleplayer console get the Wii - if you're looking for online grab a PS3.
Although - as an owner of both a Wii and PS3 - I'd say get both if you can. Even if that is just buying one now and then saving up for the other one it's worth it.
Here's the brief breakdown for the PS3 in comparison to the Wii in my mind. I frequently play PS3, Wii, 360, PSP and DS by the way.
Wii: Nintendo always puts gameplay first and story last. Their gameplay is top-notch, perhaps the best. The hardware power is of course worse, so don't expect the graphics to compare to the other consoles. Local multiplayer is the best you'll find on any console, which is sadly being forgotten on the PS3 and 360 these days. Online, however, is lacking.
PS3: Gameplay is still excellent, but it's also much heavier in story. If you love a good story, I don't think you'll find a better home console. Local multiplayer is neglected, but the online is much better. Graphics and hardware power is of course better.
That's how I view them. Both have their strengths, so decide for yourself.
