Ok first i want to start by telling you this is not the first time i have posted looking for an answer to my problem. I bought my Wii the first day it became available and it wasn't until some months ago a doubt is not letting me play my games having the fun time i should get without worry. After taking a look athe downside of my game game discs i found that they have developed some little fine lines on the center of the plastic hub around the hole that touches the spinning motor and not on the actual disc part that hold data. To notice them you need to take a very close look and inspect them under a light buld reflection.

According to a Nintendo Rep as long as my games play without giving me error messages my Wii is ok. And he said that if the Wii were scratching my games they will get a very noticeable and non superficial circle scratch around. I would like you Wii owners to give me your opinion on this. I really want to play my GC and Wii games again just having fun whiout having to worry.

I know i may sound childish or dumb but i just want to make sure everything is ok.

Everything is okay. Unless a disc actually gets scratched, there's nothing to worry about. It already would've happened if your Wii already had the problem.

What about those little fine lines? They must but light superficial scratches as i told are not on the actual disc only around the hole of the plastic hub.

I hope so. Some people here told me that their games didn't have these little superficial lines around the hole . I wonder if the understood what i was talking about.

If it's just on the clear part on the center, then it doesn't really matter. It can make those tiny scratches all the time and it won't do any real harm. The only worry would be that whatever is causing the scratches will grow to do some real damage. My point above is that there's no real reason to assume it'll magically just get worse. If there's something scratching the center part, chances are that it's gonna stay there.

Either you can be afraid and never play your Wii again, or you can wait for some actual damage to be done to the discs then send it in for repairs, or you can send it in for repairs now and see if they find anything wrong.

I'd go for the first option.

Isn't discs have plain bare plastic there anyways? so nothing important touches a motor that spins 1,000's of rpm per minute, also because your getting scartches there it cant get worse like the last poster said, because the laser carriage does not go there meaning its not scartching them rather something on the motor, the motor how ever cant touch any part with data on the disc for this reason.

lol, stop worrying and just play some games. If it breaks, get it fixed. If not, you're enjoying games.

You could be doing that when you put the game in the case (or take it out), or it may have come that way from on of the disk manufacturer or publisher. If you have to go through as much effort as you are to see them, you have nothing to worry about. Life is too short to worry about it.

At one moment i thought that. My confusion and doubt came from when i bought my copy of Mario Galaxy 2, the moment i inserted the game into my Wii and i took it out there was one of those little line. This is somewhat confusing because if this is a problem then a lot more Wii's are like mines and and don't want my games getting this if it is not normal plus paying $75 dollars plus shipping just for Nintendo to check it out is too much. And getting another Wii will be a waste of money and all the data on the Wii will be lost.

I don't check the discs :P, but my Wii has sounded like a .... I dont know severe buzzing since about mid 2007 (Got it at launch) it still works so who cares, you do know that no matter whats wrong with it you will have to pay the same fee to get it checked out? id rather let it blow up and pay the fee than send it in without anything wrong and pay the same amount....

No. I'm afraid I'd become a paranoid obsessive compulsive wreck if I did.

The Wear and Tear is from me playing it a lot. It happens to PC Games too.

I was looking at this picture of the spinning motor and i don't know that it could be a problem with it. Could it be the form it have? I was thinking it could be a shap edge but in that case it will cause an identation on the disc which it isn't.

LOL. Now i get it. At first i thought you were referring to me. At one moment i thought of opening the Wii since i have opened PCs but right now i don't thing that will be wise either spending $75 dollars plus packing the console and pay shipment so Nintendo can take a look. I'm not sure there could be a defect in the motor plastic like a sharp edge because if that was the case the games would have an indentation.

Use the laser cleaner. It works wonderful. Your disks will remain the same but you'll be more relaxed as it won't be happening again soon

The Nintendo Cleaning Kit? But the laser is not scratching the games.
