Not sure if this was already posted but it got a 5.5. I thought it would have got a bit higher score than that.

The game would be a total waste of money if it wasn't for the Wii-mote.

That game is nothing more than a glorified tech demo and that's being generous. It's cool if you've never played the Wii before, but chances are if you are getting that game it's because you need another controller, and no other reason. If it was being sold by itself it should cost no more than $5-10 and it might sell 100 copies mainly people who want to play "Duckhunt". [=^)

Yeah i've heard really bad things about it and decided not to buy it. Gonna get a universal remote for my room isntead, be put to more use. I get the wiimote with wii play but i'd rather jsut save the 10 bucks and get the wii mote by itself.

I'll probably end up getting it for the controller and for the simple fact that it's one of those games my 3 year old and 5 year old will enjoy playing. Just point at the duck and shoot it son, good job..!!! eheh Both of them love bowling on Wii Sports, that was a game that would be worth buying by itself. It has enough options and playability to be enjoyable. It's one of the games I end up playing for at least a few minutes every day.

Isn't it funny, how these 2 guys, who are obviously biased, claim the game is no good, the day of it's release, and everybody starts screaming how bad it is.  It hasn't even come out in the US until n the morning.

And AU IGN gave it a 8.3!!!!!  And they liked it.

I'm expecting it to be fairly decent for what it is, that's why I preordered it. I'm looking forward to playing it, especially Tanks. It's a good deal since it comes with a Wii remote so you can't really complain. The way I see it is if you don't think it's worth it then don't get it, just don't complain about it. It just means someone else will be lucky enough to get a copy.

Wii Play should have been packed in alongside Wii Sports.  Actually, Wii Sports is fun, but seriously, Wii Play isn't worth spending money on even if it comes with a Wii Remote.

Hm, let me rephrase.

If you're looking for a Wii Remote and you're fine with paying $10 extra than it's worth it to get a new game like that.

If you're looking for a good game to play, then it isn't worth it.

How about this, buy Wii Play, then sell it on ebay for $49 bucks without the Wii-mote.

well, it's a bunch of demo games.. it's worth 10 bucks. Kind fun to play with non gamers like parents. It's good for a few laughs. There are some really good games on it. Pool is good, shooting is nice (duckhunt)... but i can understand the 5.5

It's a collection of some fun, and some not so fun games. Most you wont really want to play again, though some of them are good to let people play who are new to Wii. Shooting Range is okay, although it's nothing that exciting, and I've only played it twice. Find Mii is pointless and confusing. Table Tennis is nothing exciting. Pose Mii is okay. I've not played it enough to say if it's any good. Laser Hockey is quite fun actually :) Billiards is probably the best game, though it's nothing amazing and the music is irritating. Fishing is more fun in Zelda Charge is okay to play once or twice Tanks, I've rarely played, but is quite fun. It's also fun for the Mii factor, and I suppose 5.5 is quite a reasonable score for it. It could have been much better!

Got Wii Play ages ago, but only to get the remote with it (I couldn't find them anywhere else!) It's alright, something to help friends get used to it, but I would say the score is about right.

That score makes sense. Wii Play is a good game and a good deal too when combined with the Wii Remote. It lacks depth though and I only end up playing it for about 10 minutes each time I put it on.

Thats good for you to have an opinion, but others will disagree and buy it for the fact that it is a few minigames that they can play alittle a day and enjoy. Plus they get an extra remote to boot. People can discuss what they want here, as long as they dont push their thoughts down everyones mouth, which it seems you are with your post. Alot of people will like it and play it quite a bit, depending on what they want out of it and the games they end up liking, plus if they have a family that can enjoy it as well.

It has been getting put down for a while now. I didn't expect a high score. I only have one Wiimote. So, I might buy Wii Play for the Wiimote and consider the game to only cost $10.

I think that's exactly the reason the game is bundled with a Wiimote. Just as Wiisports being bundled with the Wii.

And maybe you dont know all the members of your family. Maybe they will like it and have fun. I am not defending it for beter or worse. Just saying you cant say that until they play it. You might be surprised.

Reviews are the opinion of the person doing the reviewing. Each person will look for something different in a game. Maybe the reviewer didn't like the game for one reason or another. If you have been wanting to get the game just use a review as a guideline. But don't ever think because one person says the game sucks it does. You might find people who love the game and would rate it higher. The choice is yours in the end.

Just a note to let you know.... Wiiplay has turned out to be not only a fun game, but a chance for Nintendo to show they know what they are doing.  1 Wiimote + Tech Demo = $$$$$ + Happy fanbase.

At least the big N is caring about what their fans want --- value and fun.

Wii Play is an ok collection of short mini-games when played single player. By yourself, the only games worth playing are Tanks! and Billiards, the only two with any single-player depth and replayability. Ping Pong is great if you're into twitch/fast-reflex games since the computer never loses and all you have to do is return the ball as the speed increases. Sounds dull until you find the ball going at such a fast speed that you really have to be on your toes to get to it. Not as replayable as Tanks! and Billiards, though. Single player table hockey is ok except that the computer has such an advantage over you due to having prestine control over the ball while you have to deal with your natural shakiness holding the remote. The rest of the games get fairly dull fairly fast. To be fair, the one where you twist the Mii to match the bubbles gets pretty fast and frantic as to be enjoyable (much like Ping Pong) except that, unlike Ping Pong, it takes too long to get to the stages that matter. Since you have to start over each time and play the lower, slower, duller levels to get to the more exciting ones, it's not really worth playing a second time. Wii Play really shines, however, when you've got a friend to play with. Ping Pong is absolutely one of the funnest games to play due to the strategic placing of the ball by quick flicks of the wrist just as you hit the ball to aim your shot and by doing power shots (haven't entirely mastered it but it involves flicking your paddle towards the net just as you're about to hit it). This leads to frantic play as you get fast shots going and cross-table shots while possibly messing with your opponent's head by constantly hitting the ball back to a certain corner until you smash it to the other side. Billiards is quite fun 2 player, sorta like being at a pool-hall with a buddy where, if you know you can't sink a ball, you can position the cueball to screw your friend over. It's a very deep game due to being able to aim your shot, produce spin on the ball, and control the power of your shot. This allows you to plan out and, hopefully, execute a plan to run the table. Tanks!, I would argue, is funner single player but only because you have a number of lives, thus you don't have to restart from the first level as often. In multiplayer, when both players die, you have to start over from level 1 and play the same missions over again. This, thankfully, isn't such a bad thing because the levels and gameplay themselves are quite entertaining. You have two attacks: canon fire that can richochet off of walls once and proximity mines that explode when any tank gets close to it or it gets shot. The gameplay gets pretty hectic as both yours and your enemy's shots will end up bouncing all over the place, forcing you to both be aware of tanks shooting you directly as well as avoid shots that possibly missed you the first time but might be coming back due to ricochet. The enemy tanks come in different colours that denote different weapon abilities. You can also shoot down enemy fire with your own shots, cancelling both. The levels also contain some destructable walls, thus what may have been cover a second ago might turn into an open firing path. All in all, I'm quite happy with what Wii Play brings. It brings a lot of multiplayer love that can be fairly addictive, especially Ping Pong and Tanks!, but is definitely lacking if played solely for single player.

Joeyg.... You said it well. I also like most of the Play. I will add Table Hockey is beatable if you get your points then defend and keep the computer out of play as much as possible.
