No price cut this holiday season so for the people who still didn't catch the supply/demand classes that means that retail holiday 2007 will match those of retail 2006.

Straight from Nintendo...

"We'll stay at $249 for the foreseeable future. We are still selling everything we can make,"

I don't expect a sales cut until maybe next holiday season, and if colored consoles launch holiday 2008 it might be until Q1 of 2009 until we see a drop.

People will keep asking, because our public education system is incompetent when it comes to teaching economics. If it makes sense to you for a company to lower the price of a product, that's still sold out in a lot of places, what color is the sky in your world?

And why would they lower the price. They're making money on each console they sell, unlike sony or microsoft.

Yeah the only real "price drop" I could see, would be a bundle or something. IDK, if Nintendo is still making money off of Wii sales, and selling out everywhere, I think it'd just be a stupid move to lower the price this year. It's cheap enough as it is anyways :P. Though, my Wii is just been sitting here, waiting for SSBB, Trauma Center, and Tales of Symphonia 2 T_T.

Yeah, the Wii is already so low in price and Reggie has said they will not meet demand this holiday season, even after ramping up production. I don't see any need for a price drop for a long time.

That wasn't directed at the TC, it was rhetorical. I've been around here long enough to know Jasonguy would never think something so silly.

Anyone who even thought there would be a price drop anytime soon is crazy. Why would they drop the price of an already affordable, price-friendly system that you still have to get lucky to find in a store becasue they can't stock them fast enough?

I agree is the TC, the price drop won't be until probably 09.

It means....."until sales slow down enough that our competition looks dangerous." Who can say when that will be.

Ofcourse there's no price drop. The wii is selling like hot cakes right now at it's original price. Why would Nintendo make a price drop? For the hell of it? The corporation would only lose money.

In the Future Shop ad here in Canada this week, Wii is $20 off, with Happy Feet (although the second part doesn't mean much ). It's really up to the stores to decide if they want to lower prices. Even if Nintendo gives them a price cut, they still have the option of not passing it on to the consumers.

My question is when will they drop the price for 1st and 2nd party games? Zelda, Warioware, and paper mario are still at max pricing and they've been out a long time now.

They must still be selling well. The guy who couldn't get a Wii until yesterday wants to play Zelda, Warioware, and Paper Mario just as much as the guy (like me) who got a Wii at launch.
