Make sure the batteries are secure in the Wiimote.

Also check what power they are. I have 2 sets of 2500's and they last a long time, if you have like 600's they'll last only one quarter of the time mine do.

I've found that recharable batteries are rubbish for the wiimote, a pair of them cost me £13 and on a full charge last maybe 5 hours.

Then i can go pick up a cheap pack of non rechargables, 20 for 99p and they last for days.

I'm using No Name "Long Life" Alkalyne batteries. They come in a box of 40 for... I dunno, probably $10. They seem to last 15-20 hours.

Just I start getting the "low battery" message at 2 bars, and it pops up every 5 minutes or so. It's damn annoying, because the batteries still have hours of life left, but it's so disruptive that you usually throwing them out half-full. I wish there was a way to turn that off, and just play until they're totally empty.

I don't get the low battery message till I am at one bar and usually 15 minutes left. Your batteries are just awfull so they are giving off a false signal of how much power they have left.

Btw only certain games will give the message. Most will just lose connection and go into pause mode when the wiimote signal is lost.

I bought some new AA Energizers and they have lasted over ten hours.  I thought the battery life with the originals that came with the remote were awfully short though.

I've had some problems with the rechargable batteries too, so at the moment, I'm sticking to non-rechargable ones, which seem to last longer. 4 for 63p at Tesco seems okay... not that I''m playing my Wii that much at the mo anyway...

Get rechargeable batteries and charge them weekly. You'll save money that way. Alkalines keep a pretty good charge. Get a couple of USB rechargeables (a rechargable battery that charges via USB drive).

Rechargeable batteries don't last as long as regular ones, but in the long run they're a lot more economical.  It's a tradeoff between the extra cost of regular batteries and the inconvenience of having to change rechargeable batteries more often.

Duracell recharchable batteries are excellent.  You can get a 4 pack with the charger for only 15 us dollars.  They last about 15 hours of play time for me.  I have the 1800s and 2500s.

This seems to be a large problem. If you aren't blowing your money on games, you're blowing it on batteries. Perhaps Nintendo would be better off creating a rechargeable controller and use specialized batteries, like the GameBoy SP.

Why not just get the Nyko charge station for 30 bucks? I have it and it works great for me. My Wiimotes are always charged. The only down side is that if you are using a remote skin then you have to cut part of it out on the back because that is where the Wiimote connects to the charge station from.

Wow. My rechargable batteries I use have a little more than 12 hours on them now and they are only half gone (according to the home button).

Rechargable batteries can be fickle. If you play straight through one of their lifespans then you can get a lot of time out of them, but if you turn them off or let them sit without charging they do seem to lose power thats why I always hav a third set charging at all times; if either Wii-mote dies I have some ready and just get the old ones to recharge while I play. I have not once had to worry about how long the batteries last or had to go out and get a pack of normal batteries for years(started using rechargables for my GBA and normal remotes).

There are many different rechargeable batteries. Certain brands are better then others. Also recharageable batteries have a rating on them. Certain ratings are very good for cameras for example while others if you put them in a camera they would be sucked dry in 15 minutes. In a tv remote they would last months however.

puddingdemon wow i just thought it was me,

looks like every wii remote sucks the life of out batteries differently

i think ill try to go back to non-rechargeable batteries for a bit.

i usually used IKEA AA batteries and it got me about 20hours and their only 10 for 3.00bucks CAN

they should just make wii remotes like the PS3 controllers, built in battery with usb charge, my PS3 controllers last me like 2 weeks of gaming 4 hours a day

i use duricell rechargables and they last for about 40 hours of zelda and zelda ONLY. i think some games / channes use more power than zelda so it will be diffrent if you dont only play zelda for 40 hours in 4 days 0-0

Rumble and the nunchuck take up most of the battery life.
