Every time I want to use my 2nd Wii remote - I have to re-sync it! As soon as I put the console onto standby, or switch it off it loses sync - and none of the buttons (A, B, Power, etc) do anything... no lights flashing... nothing)

The only way I canget it to workis to do the whole -press red button on remote, then console thingy.

The remote that came with the console works fine - it's just my 2nd one that does this.

Anybody got any tips... or does it sound like my remote is busted?

Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, the Wii pales in comparison to the PS3 & 360 in this department. I have to do the same thing when I switch remotes. If you are using a charging station in lieu of regular batteries then you might consider just changing the battery pack each time and keeping the same remote synched.

Just one of the reasons the Wii is so much cheaper than the others.

Just shut up. You are doing the syncing wrong. You do the press red button in remote and on the console to all the remotes when you add one. You have to do it within a ten second time frame. You do not use the wiimote syncing in the wiimote remote options if you are permently going to add a wiimote. That is for when friends come over with their wiimotes.

PS3 users complain of their controllers losing connection to the console all the time.

i have the same problem but its not a sync problem for me it was player issue. I synced the second remote but also used it as a first player remote when i lost my main one thus sence then i had sync problems but nothing to serious. have you used the remote as different numbers? Ie: used remote number 2 as remote number 1

Yep. I tried using my 2nd remote as number 1... but again - every time I restarted the console it had lost sync.

I've followed the instructions very closely - and nothing seems to correct the problem. Since I have no problems with my 1st remote (that came with the console) - I'm starting to think it might just be a faulty remote, so will probably take it back to the shop this week.

This is nothing to do with changing batteries etc... I just want the 2nd remote so I can play 2 player. My 1st remote that came with the console works fine - and has yet never lost sync.

You need to press the sync on the console then hit sync on the wiimote. Have to do it when the console is on not off. Also make sure the press a button screen is on screen and not the regular wii menu. In fact do the syncing when you first turn the console on. What also helps is to do the temp sycn and then fully sync both wiimotes.

Remember you have to press the sync buttons on all the wiimotes that are to be used with the console. This means hte one that came with the console. Otherwise it will cause an issue.

Tried everything... so ended up taking it back to the shop for a replacement... and the new one works fine.
