are you using component cables then? the Red blue and green ones? If its connected properly not only should the 480p option be available I believe it automatically switches over. I noticed a huge difference, but I went from a 27in. tube TV to a 46in Widscreen LCD TV, so there were many factors at play.

I had to set it manually, and although I noticed a difference, I wouldn't call it huge.

you're probably right. A lot of the difference I noticed was going from such an old small tv, to a big screen widescreen, LCD, and all that jazz, not just the change from RCA to component. I never tried the plain RCA cables in this new TV.
