Has anyone seen a console with such erratic, all over the map reviews as the Wii? So many good games getting awful scores from various sites.
What's everyone's thoughts on games that seriously got shafted?
Conduit - I respect other's opinions ,but it's an outrage gamespot gave this a 6.5. Sure the reviewer makes some ok points, but your review is not just your opinion but a buyer's guide for everyone else. Had I saw a 6.5 before buying it, I may not have gotten it, and that ticks me off, because I love it. I really don't objectively see how you give this a score lower than a 7.5 to be honest.
Obscure The Aftermath - no way this is a 4.5. Sure the story is goofy and it's short, but it's a decent game with good controls, at times impressive graphics, and takes the RE formula and mixes it up fairly well. Gamestop has this NEW FOR $12 - it's a definite no brainer buy at that price. Again, I don't see how someone scores this that low unless they have a chip on their shoulder. The good thing about this getting bad reviews is at least it's dirt cheap.
Red Steel - frankly for me it's a 7/10. The controls take time getting used to and can spaz out temporarily at times, but it's certainly playable and does add to the game just so long as you give it a chance. Not a bad game at all and again, it's a no brainer to buy since it's so cheap now. Frankly I think the graphics are great for a 2006 wii game and at times, exceed the Conduit in eye candy. I do get pissed off because it says it saves at each checkpoint, but it only does so at certain checkpoints and doesn't let you know which ones. I'll stop a game at a checkpoint then when I pop the disc in to pick up, it sets me back two checkpoints and there's no way in hell to figure it out.
Anyone else got recommendations from the "blacklist"?
Some games I'm curious about are the Agatha Christie Point and Clicks, the Wolf/Nancy Drew one (forgot the title) and Secret Files: Tunguska look interesting and seem dirt cheap on ebay (except for Tunguska which hasn't been released in the US yet).
