After reading about how the Wii shortages may last longer than anyone expected, I thought I would take a poll. I personally got a Wii on launch day by waiting at Best Buy for an hour before it opened. The only other time I have seen Wiis on store shelves is at Costco in bundles with an extra wiimote and Mario Party 8 for around $330. So I was wondering if the demand for Wiis is still high after nine months on the market, or if it is enough to warrant this many complaints about shortages.
I got mine launch day at a new Target store in a semi-remote area and it was pretty easy to find. I was 5th in line at like midnite but they were all sold out that morning but I got everythingI needed.
my stories boring. i preordered my wii about a month before launch. got up on launch day....went to the shop. no big que or anything....just went in....gave my name and got my wii and a few games. the end.
good thing i preordered it though.....Wiis are MIA completly where i live now.
lol yea they are still hard to find around here. I got mine around launch time so I'm fine. I love going into target/gamestop and seeing 4-8 PS3's sittin there and no wii's lol.
Well I got my Wii on Launch after profiteering a PS3 I resevered on eBay (for $1580). I used the profits, bought the Wii and have been enjoying it ever since. I will say that I have not seen a single Wii in any store ever in So. AZ. My parents bought one @ Target on a fluke sunday morning where there was only 3 in stock with my dad and the person behind him buying two of them. The Wii shortage is a problem, but even if production was increased I think it would just mean that many more Wiis in houses and not on shelves.
got mine the day after christmas. Called Gamestop and they said they had 2. I asked them to hold one for an hour he said he'd hold it for 30 minutes. Made it there in 20+ got Zelda along with the Wii
after 3 weeks of calling 13 stores twice a day my step dad was randomly at the futureshop i just called and saw them so he picked it up for me, stupid lying futureshop.
Lots of bad luck: I was 4th on the list of preorders and they only got 3 wii's so: I slept in front of a store so I was guaranteed to have a Wii. Next thing they released them 1 day earlier. So I travelled to a big city and looked for it in all stores but they were all sold out. So a whole week of searching and suddenly I got a phone call of the preorder and I got it.
i guess you could say i found mine easily i just went to a store the night before launch and waited about 5-8 hours and got mine. just sat their playing mario kart ds with people.
I got mine the day it came out. Seriously, from where I live, almost all of the stores around where I live has had at least a few in stock ever since they came out. I don't think there has been a time yet where theres been a time when a store hasn't had one in.
I got one a week ago but they were sold out 15 minutes after the store opened. I didn't actually go but my parents went to circuit city 10 minutes before it opened. There was a line of about 20 people and they were giving out vouchers for the Wii. So yeah here you can't just look in a store and buy one.
