Latest news story today has Wii software showing up in the bargain bin most often.

I don't know if I agree. It seems that too many publishers are willing to cut their losses rather then seeing what kind of legs their product will have.

So the lesson learned is that buy all your software from a store that supports a 90 day return period so you can price match lol

Knowledge is power!

Well that's what they get for misinterpreting their audience. The majority of us are not dumb enough to buy shovelware.

Maybe Wii games wouldn't hit the bargain bin as fast if third-parties didn't confuse "casual gamers" with "stupid people."

Well what do we mean by the bargain bin?? Because some of that shovelware starts out in the bargain bin, doesnt it? If we mean cheap then yes, if we mean hits a price break then I guess not.

Finde ich auch, leider merke ich hier nicht viel davon. Wii Spiele werden in Deutschland so gut wie gar nicht im Preis gesenkt. (I agree with you, unfortunately i can't recognize this effect here. Wii games are hardly sold for budget prizes in germany.)

Please tell me Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is in there. In critcal aspects on GS it wasn't shovelware, nor firmware. So don't make fun of me that I want The Force Unleashed.

Well, that just means that we can get 3rd-party gems for cheap, I suppose. Consumers seriously underestimate their value because they aren't as promoted as much.

after thinking about this whole news for a while i came to the same conclusion. it says that 15% of the games on the wii get lowered in their prize faster. actually this is telling us that the wii has more low-quality games than other consoles and these games dont seem to sell well, so they get lowered in their prize. of course it's not talkin about games like SMG, Zelda, AC etc.

That's exactly what I was going to say. The Wii is a good console, but it has been supported poorly from the very start. It kinda reminds me of the Sega Saturn: great potential wasted on an ocean of awful games and poor ports that cried when compared to the other versions.

Well, with the over-saturated party-game market, it was bound to happen sooner or later. But hey, maybe I can find some good, cheap games to own.

Too bad there's nothing worth getting in the bargain bins on the wii.
