Why would you turn it off?
Nintendo's service is quite simple, if you can't say it in an open room don't say it at all
I like that angle

I agree with this. Now there are much lesser people saying stupid things.
how many games we have with this so far? i just know about the conduit  the only thing that could be a disappointment to me is that there are no many games using it (as far as I know) but that`ll change with days to come.. so :)The only reason why I never got it is because it's not a headset.
I really don't like how people in the next room could hear me and the people I'm talking to. Also, you probably have to talk pretty loud for it to pick it up.

I guess, but there are only 2 games that utilize it. We need more, and if Nintendo can release an uptade to make their wi-fi games compatable (which is unlikley) then I'd get itI'm not a huge supporter of voice chat in game. Sure, it's necessary for some games some of the time, but usually, I just end up muting everyone anyways. Unless it's a CAL match or something, I just don't think it matters much.

That's not their angle. The angle is that everybody in the room can talk to everybody in the other room! And I don't like the idea of the wii Speak because everyone in the room can be heard and doesn't that mean that you can't play any sort of music or anything while playing?

You don't have to talk loud at all for it to pick up, and like its been said, what could you possibly be saying that you don't want anyone to hear? If your talking about the game why would you care if someone heard you tell your teammate to flank the opponent? And if your talking to a frined, why would you choose to talk about highly personal matters over a video game conference? There's nothing wrong with the system, keep it clean and there's no reason to be shy. And you cant even talk about how you would make noise at night because you cant whisper into a headset either, you have to speak with your normal voice.I like it, it feels like that person is in the room. There are only two games that use it though, and that's Conduit and Animal Crossing. I can imagine Star Fox Wii with online multiplayer, using Wii Speak to talk to your friends, or use it to command your teammates.nintendoboy16
I'm pretty sure I heard something about Star Fox Wii not happening ever. But made you say Star Fox when talking about Wii Speak?
I like wiispeak much more than having some retarded thing on my head.
The problem with wiispeak is that it's not used how it should be used.
Wii speak should be running in the background. It shouldn't be linked to any software, it should be a hardware thing. If my friend is playing mario galaxy and I'm playing lost winds, we should still be able to chat. The moment I turn on my wii, it should scan for any friends (who I have exchanged system FCs with) who are also playing their wii and ask me if I would like to start a chat room with them in the background. If we all want to play together online, cool, if not, fine we can still chat though.
Only 2 games available with Wii Speak (The Conduit and Animal Crossing City Folk) and it's been out for...9 months? And there are no upcoming software titles that I know of intending to bring wii speak to use. Wii Speak is just not being utilized in enough games, and that is my disappointment with it.wiifan001I know NHL 2K10 is and there a couple of other games I heard about but I don't remember what they were. I believe it was Endless Ocean 2.
