It's pretty obvious that the controls are extremely hard with this game, so I don't know why everybody who responded is saying otherwise...I hardly ever play this because I can't control the punching.Rerun_Text
This guy represents everyone who has ever played Wii Boxing apparently.
no... its a little off but still playable mabey you just suck at it?nely_nelsonI was thinking the same thing. If you dont like it, dont play it, but practice and you will get the hang of them.
I'm at 1700 points and I stopped playing because the controls are unresponsive and it was getting frustrating
Now, victorious boxing looks greay

To punch you don't do the same motions. It's kind of annoying, but it's fine with me. Just give it flicks instead of actually punching, and also do it fast. Slow motions aren't going to be registered.solidsnakeEx3
Which is why it's crap.
I thought the point of the Wii was that you're actually doing the motions that the character onscreen is doing? When I first got the Wii I boxed against some kid that had played it before... I'm swinging like crazy, throwing real punches and watching my Mii stand there doing nothing, and this fat lazy kid's standing there just flicking his wrists and beating the crap out of me. I hope someone makes a boxing game where you really box... otherwise you might as well just be pushing buttons.

first of all, read the manual.
second. you can hit to the face, chest, and stomach. it depends on where you have your wiimote and nunchuck(low, medium, high) and also whether you swing side to side (hooks) or forward(jabs) or swing up(uppercuts). The game is actually smarter than most of the players. The best Wii boxers are the ones who slow down their punches and allow the game to catch up. The less astute gamers just keep flailing their arms, which doesn't work. In my extensive experience with this game, it's usually only the non-gamer girls that have a hard time with the punch recognition. It's interesting that you have the same problem...murlow12
Exactly! Like I said, there's a rhythm to it. If your throwing hard and fast, flailing like you've got issues, you're not going to be very succesful. You've got to watch the character. Let him draw his punch back before throwing the next one. It just takes some patience is all.As for the part about girls, it's kind of funny. My male friends have more problems because they play too aggressively (like I did when Iplayed the first time). Funny, really.
It's not impossible, it's just something that has to be learned. Pay attention to the tutorials.
Although I do admit that it's very unintuitive, once it's learned, it's not so bad. Not better than any other button-based setup, but not really worse either.
