With all the great accessories coming out for the Wii -- the Zapper, the Balance Board, the Wii-Wheel -- how about a Wii Sword? The hilt has a compartment to place both the nunchuck controller and the remote, or have something in place of a remote. Imagine a Wii fencing or lightsaber game with this particular accessory! Imagine it with online play. It's probably only a matter of time before I can use my fencing skills against other opponents via the Wii.

I would hardly call the Zapper a "great" accessory. And I don't want to have to swing some dumb, heavy sword attachment to play a game. And the attachment itself would limit access to buttons limiting gameplay options. It would leave you with only an on-rails option similar to the Dragon Quest game, and I'm not that thrilled about that game, looks boring going around and just slashing people.

The Zelda sword and shield are just clip-on shells, you do realise this don't you?

And they're really bad, in my honest opinion.

You can't use the bow with the sword attachment on because it blocks the IR on the Wiimote.

i totally agree with that bit about the zapper, and you can through the fishing rod in their as well. maybe if they made something small like the size of a dagger and made it out of something besides white or gray plastic, it might be something worth while.

There is no need for a wii sword. It is pointless to create an attachment for every one of Nintedo's main franchises. The wii-mote itself acts perfectly as a sword hilt simulator. An added blade would only increase wii related injuries.

In all honesty, the Wii is meant to be a versatile console, it isn't meant to be about releasing tons of different remotes or shells. It costs more money and annoys me.

The shells are annoying. You have to find somewhere to put them and to be honest, if you enjoy Wii, you don't need a shell "To enhance your imagination skills".

i would probably have to agree with you and say that a wii sword would be a great accessory, but only if the wii had some games that followed the actions of the controller instead of just swinging randomly
