This looks awesome!

http://www.gamestop.com/browse/search.aspx?N=138&Ntk=TitleKeyword&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntt=tatsunoko%20vs%20capcom

I was thinking about getting it but I can't believe it's $79.99

I'm not sure if I wanna pay that much for it.

What do you think? Is anyone else thinking about getting it?

You're right that does look awesome.

I wouldn't mind getting it either but charging $79.99 is a bit ridiculous, the game doesn't even cost that much.

I think $29.99 would be more reasonable.

Exactly.

I'm hopping that no one will buy it and the price will go down.

Then I'll get it

Yeah I know, ridiculous right?

And I wonder why they're not selling it with the game, and just charging more, but defintly not $79.99 more

Like Mario Kart with the Wii Wheel, for example.

OH SNAP  I initially saw it as the controller was bundled with the game as a total of $79.99....it's not. What a freekin ripoff!

If I were Capcom, I'd ask Nintendo to help with a cl4ssic controller bundle. Kind of like the Monster Hunter G cl4ssic controller bundle in Japan...

... But with a Tatsunoko vs Capcom design, obviously.

Now that I think about it, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, if marketed right, could be a good moment to introduce the Cl4ssic Controller Pro to Western territories. But that's a far shot, I reckon.

Arcade sticks are awesome, but only the biggest enthusiasts use them. A cl4ssic controller will work well with the game and it's infinitely cheaper to produce. You could actually sell a bundle with a cl4ssic controller for $60 (that's what a newer game for the HD consoles costs). That would work for both Nintendo and Capcom, because the game would sell cl4ssic controllers because the bundle saves you 10 bucks, and the controller would sell the game, like Wii Play. Both companies win and the costumer gets a great deal too. It's win-win-win deal.

The problem is that a Arcade Stick cost a lot more to manufacture than a regular controller. The inside components of a regular controller are basically a board and all buttons ecept the triggers are a rubber with a little plastic on it, Inside a Arcade Stick you have:

1. Eight buttons that aren't little rubbers, each one connected by two cables to a board

2. Home and turbo buttons connected with it's own cables

3. Cable that connect to the Wii Remote

4. Arcade control stick with the part that cover it

5. thebigger than a normal controller exterior wich a a metal bottom.

6. Start and Select.

7. Two different boards inside of them.

When you compare the inside of them with a regular controller you will notice that it have far more components than a regular controller. A Wii Remote cost like ten to fifting dollars then they are sold to the store for more ( I assumed like $20 and the store sell them for $40). This stick should be sold for no more than $59.99, i want one since playing this game is better with a Fight Stick but the price seems to me very high. 6. The art on it.

Yeah they cost $149.99 but tey are with real Sanwa Denshi buttons and control sticks, the same inside high quality arcade machines and are of higher quuality and more durable not generics parts like the ones in this fight stick.

@ LordQuorthon That'd be nice, would probly actualy promote sales also. You're right too, arcade sticks are awesome. I wanted to get the arcade stick/controller but i'm not sure I'd use it that much, and I don't think it'd should cost that much either. Also that controller for Monster Hunter looks awesome, Japan gets all the good stuff :P

The price isn't that bad. The Marvel vs Capcom 2 stick for the 360 looks great and is about $150, likely better quality but the cheaper ones are about the same price as this.

There needs to be a stick for all systems. I can't spend $300 on a fight stick for every system. Dammit BlazBlue, Marvel vs Capcom 2, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

It looks awesome, but $80 is too steep for me. $50 would have been much more reasonable.

I'm definately not getting it, the classic control will do. I'm not even sure how good the stick will be since the controls for this game are very odd. It's not your usual layout and you actually use the same button to do a low kick as you do to do a heavy punch. The controls are actually a lot more like SF Gem Fighter, where you keep pushing the same button to do the combo.

No. Unless you are talking about the Wiimote/Wiimote + Nunchuk scheme. The cl4ssic/gamecube controller/arcade stick scheme has four main buttons: weak attack, mid attack, heavy attack, and another button to call your teammate. Triggers on the cl4ssic and gamecube controllers are used as weak attack + mid attack + heavy attack for dashing and performing specials more easily.

Yep, I know, I have the japanese version. There are no Punch or kick buttons, just weak mid and heavy attack. So if you played Gem fighter, you know you have three attack buttons and can do different moves by pushing the same button. TvsC is the same way, you can leg sweep with down and fierce, then go forward fierce for a punch and roll and fierce to connect to a dragon uppercut. What I'm saying is, I'm not sure that you really need an arcade stick.

So does my friend. We've played the game for dozens of hours.

There are no Punch or kick buttons, just weak mid and heavy attack. So if you played Gem fighter, you know you have three attack buttons and can do different moves by pushing the same button.thecreechxxx

I know that, but that's not what you said earlier:

It's not your usual layout and you actually use the same button to do a low kick as you do to do a heavy punch. The controls are actually a lot more like SF Gem Fighter, where you keep pushing the same button to do the combo. thecreechxxx

If you have three types of attacks (low/mid/heavy) spread through three entirely different buttons, simple logic dictates that you simply can't use the same button to do a low kick and a heavy punch.

Plus, you can't do combos if you keep pushing the same button, unless you are happy with combos of 2 and 3 hits.

Either you got really confused, are using hyperboles, or are purposefully trying to mislead people who haven't played the game.

TvsC is the same way, you can leg sweep with down and fierce, then go forward fierce for a punch and roll and fierce to connect to a dragon uppercut.thecreechxxx

Indeed. But that's not the same as "you can use the same button to do low kick and heavy punch" or "you can do combos by pushing the same button".

What I'm saying is, I'm not sure that you really need an arcade stick.thecreechxxx

Agreed. That's debatable. I know I won't, and if you read this thread, you'll see that I actually believe that a cl4ssic controller bundle is a better idea.

Thanks for the clarification, not trying to mislead anyone, but your explaination sums it up. Either way, this is a must buy! It is really awesome, can't wait to play the US version with the additional characters.
