Well, since none of the original games were multiplayer on line (mostly due to the fact they are very old so internet play were barely avalible) i highly doubt they would make them online now.

And the reason why Xbox has online on their download games = they are new, so im sure if Nintendo were to release downloadable games that is not old forbidden>

Nintendo have stated that they wanted to release pure emulations of these games, meaning no new additions. It isn't a stupid step for Nintendo, many people want to play the game as though it were the original, not something different. As well, seeing how well the VC is doing, that just proves my point that it isn't a stupid step.

dont u think at all that its extra addition if i can play 2 player mode over the internet using VC, it might be worth the $10 price or so of the game...i dont see how can that hurt. as for xbl, as far as i know u can play mortal kombat and street fighter online against other players which is great.. pure emulation is nice, but i think the added feature would be a lot nicer too

It can still be this so called "pure emulation" and still have Online. All they had to do was make the emulator send 2nd player controller inputs to another user playing the same game. And it could function all around their precious "Friend Codes" too by simply having a option on your buddy list to connect to that user for Direct Online IP Play. Nintendo is just lazy, the same way they was lazy with GameCube and it's Online service that they crapped on.

Heaven forbid Nintendo puts more effort into something. This is the same company that took SMB and slapped it on a GameBoy cart and charged $20 for it.

If im wrong correct me
According to the Channels manual that came with the Wii
Whe you turn to the shop channel section it said something about being able to update your VC games free of charge
So it can mean possible online play

I heard about this too and there were countless articles made about this, relating it to having Online in VC games with that update.

Where exactly you find that update option?

I don't think there is an update option, they would release one with a Wii update or something similar to that when there is an update available, that's what I think anyways.

i dont know why people that want the original games would be bothered by online play... its like you are playing with 2nd player-as was intended in the original game..but you cant see him, he is not next to you he is far away....but playing same game...why they just cant look at it in that manner.. any how, as far as pure emulation goes, those people arent getting it any way...we can easily say that SNK, N64 , and other non snes games are have different joystick...they are forced to use the snes controller for it, not original controller which kills a lot more of the game originality than 2 player mode using virtual space instead of same room, not to mention as far as i know the graphics are far better on the VC than original games. So they arent getting pure emulation any how.
