That screenshot looks like a fake--only in the fact that Crysis probably isn't coming to the Wii--although that would be very very cool.
Still, the screenshot itself looks like it could easily be run on the Wii, as it is technically not super-impressive. It looks like Red Steel graphics with a much cooler looking gun.
Now that would be a cool game for the Wii and a type that is sorely needed--a Good FPS.Â
Why not, you might want to read this from an old interview at Gameinformer http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200608/N06.0830.2058.31148.htm:
GI: It's assumed that if you do console development it'll be on the most powerful systems – Xbox 360 and PS3. What do you think of Wii?
Yerli: I love the Wii (laughs). When I was at E3 and playtested it, I loved it. I thought about how we could do games for this platform and what kind of games they would be, and what kind of shooters we could do on it, and work it to our own needs here. Yes we've had some thoughts, but Crysis is not part of the plan at this stage, but that may change.
We are a company that takes one step at a time, and once we achieve the goal that we want to achieve then we take the next step and see what the next platform we go with next. We did not decide if we'll do PS3 at all. We have all of the development kits, and we have research going on. We have the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3, we work as researchers and test them, essentially. We have parts of these systems running because there is going to be console development in our company, but if it's going to be Crysis or not is a step ahead of us. Because if we go to fast we sacrifice quality on PC, and I want to make sure it's the best PC shooter we can do. With our company our goal is to make it the best shooter of all time. Once we achieve that, our achievement is we do our best and that's it. Whether we do it our not is to be determined. Once we are there, then we'll take the next step.
GI: Crytek is known to have made stunningly beautiful games, and while you can sort of experience them on lesser hardware, if you have the quad-SLI setup, and three gigs of RAM and a super fast processor it's going to look incredible. With looking at what the Wii has under the hood, does that discourage you as a developer?
Yerli: No, not at all, because I think we can make great visuals by different means. Look at the PS2. Some PS2 games still look fabulous. And there are games that are just stylized perfectly. You can achieve anything with every hardware. I think it's a matter of artistic direction, how you use the limitations. That ultimately is the experience you want to give. The experiences in Crysis drives the art direction. The experience of the frozen environments, the experience of interactivity, then we decide how we want it to come across visually. What do we need to do, how far do we need to go? With the Nintendo Wii the approach will be similar. We have this great controller, we have the limited power of the console, How we can make a confined space or large outdoor level, whatever, how can we make the best out of the controller that's giving the experience that we want to give? Completely fluid interactivity – how can we do that? I think it would be a completely different approach, and it deserves to be as well. So, if it our decision to make Crysis for Wii, if and I don't want to be quoted saying we'll do it. But if – if we would do it, it would have to be a completely optimal version, but it would be great. (laughs)

Interesting stuff for sureÂ
Found this article just recently on digg.com I was wondering whether or not anyone had any ideas on this or even the authenticity http://www.gamersreports.com/news/5745/crysis-coming-to-wii-image/xXxNathanxXxseems to me that someone asking for to much for the wii
While its most likely fake those images do look like they could in theory be from a Wii version. Such version is possible but only if they downgrade for the console, which isn't so bad if that means pushing it to its limits graphically. As for gameplay you may have to scale back on some of the physics and maybe AI, but that would be less then the graphics. At least if done right a Wii version of Crysis with the nunchuk and wiimote could be an awesome game. They just need to do a right balance of downgrading for the system yet push it to its limits.
That being said all this is theory and I would be surprised if there is real announcement of a console version of Crysis before the PC version. Also while a PS3 and 360 version are more likely, they to will have to be downgraded just not as much as the Wii version. That's my thought on that issue.
Alright to clear things up. The image original came from the 1UP show but was a mistake during production where it should have said PC rather than Wii. When the mistake was noticed, 1UP took the video down since everybody knew it would cause an uproar with the fanboys. The video was than taken down so that another version would be available with the corrected graphic. That's it.
Simply put, CRYSIS IS NOT COMING TO THE WII.
Stop trying to rationalize a way for EA to port. It's not going to happen.Â
It was IGN's mistake when it showed up on their podcast. It was edited pretty soon afterward to say PC instead of Wii. If it does come to Wii, it will look like Far Cry Vengeance. nytrospawn
Red Steel looks better then FarCry Wii, Metroid Prime 3 looks better then Far Cry Wii, hell Halo 1, Geist, Killzone looks better then Far Cry Wii. Never forget Far Cry Wii was totally rushed plain and simple even a downgraded Crysis on the Wii if put some real effort can look good in its right. As good as PC hell no, and not even a dumbed down PS3 or Xbox 360 version, but as bad as Far Cry Wii only if they spend 6 months on it like said game.

Don't be rude about it, of course its most likely not coming for the Wii. Yet why should I or someone else not post and outline the hypothetical situation as to how a port could be made for it. Since gameplaywise there is nothing truly that impossible for it not to be ported, like I said dumbed down but still the same basic FPS. If you don't agree fine, and I'm not expecting it to come out or believe anything about a Wii release unless there was an official announcement, but don't tell me what I want to discuss or guess at. Its my business if I want to rationalize it.

I really like the redundancy of your topic title redundancy.
[QUOTE="k_smoove"]Lol i was waiting for someone to say that!lol if he hadn't, I would.Wii version of Crysis on Wii?
No, the Wii version will be on ps3.

Lets just imagine it does come onto the Wii.... .The game will look so downgraded that it won't look like crysis at all. PimpiNbananas
Not really, because the art style would be the same that it would still be identified as Crysis. Just like COD3 and Far Cry Wii are still those games even if they are graphically inferior to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. As far as Crysis gameplay yes that may get some downgrading of physics and eviroment, but it isn't something that can't be done on console versions including the Wii. Especially with the issue of control. While I'm more then sure Crysis will be an awesome and the graphics are as good as they get for current gaming. Let's not totally put this game on some godlike status that no console can touch. Its gameplay is a further step in the right direction in terms of FPS gameplay mechanics but at the same time I wouldn't call it revolutionary and out of reach of consoles.Â
