the best u can do for wii is component cablesAJC3317
That is false. You can purchase a VGA cable for the Wii here: Click Here
(Hopefully the link will work, the site is taking its time loading on my computer). VGA cables are the best you can do for the Wii.

The Vdigi VGA cable has been getting very good reviews. Just ordered one myself.
Oh, and VGA is considered to be slightly better than component, though in this case it doesn't really matter because Wii doesn't really support VGA. Basically what the VGA cable is doing is converting a component signal to a VGA signal.
Anyone try out the Vdigi cable and how was it with the Wii? Any problems?
I bought one made by Mayflash (http://mayflash.com/vgabox/vga004/vga004.htm) and during the main Wii menu and gameplay like Mario Kart, the screen is often black, flickers a lot, and definitely not usesable. My understanding is that it can't handle 480i / 480p transitions (which the Wii / games do throughout) cleanly and so this happens. But it's so bad, I'm going to get rid of the VGA cable and find another option. The Mayflash cable looks exactly like the Vdigi one so I was wondering what other experiences people had if there are better options.
Thanks,
T.
Not to be a smart ass but then why did you get one. Is it worth $40?The Vdigi VGA cable has been getting very good reviews. Just ordered one myself.

It works just fine. However, computer monitors are not capable of 480i. 99% of Wii games are in 480p, but I'd say it's only 65% of games for the Gamecube.
Vdigi now also sells a Wii upscaler, which I am actually quite interested in. Newer computer monitors do not have the best internal upscalers, so an external upscaler would certainly help things. Typically upscalers cost 100s of dollars, but this one is Wii-specific, which is why they're able to sell it for only $60 I suppose.
I purchased it a week ago. Waiting for it in the mail now... I hope it gives at least slight improvements with the jaggies. The picture comparison on that site shows a noticeable difference (480p to 1080i). I would like to see how 1080p looks like. The comparisons to me are significant enough to warrant a purchase. I dont want HD graphics obviously, I just want a cleaner, sharper, clearer picture. And it's also suppose to enhance the colors (just like the jump from composite to component). We'll see I guess..It works just fine. However, computer monitors are not capable of 480i. 99% of Wii games are in 480p, but I'd say it's only 65% of games for the Gamecube.

To answer your question:
You shouldn't need to purchase anything other than the game. The only reason you would need a VGA/DVI cable(s) would be to play it on an HDTV or Flat-screen monitor. Of course, if you were to play it on an HDTV, with full HD support, you would go the route of an HDMI cable instead. However, Nintendo so far offers no support for HD when it comes to the Wii and their games. I have heard of ways to convert over to HD with certain adapters (which are actually quite costly), but also have issues of their own (loss of audio and video quality, as mentioned before that Nintendo does not offer the support for HD). Hope that clears that up for you. :)
