I have been extremely excited about getting the Wii, but I realize that with all the money I would spend on it, why don't I get a Mac? It will get homework done faster. It will allow me to write sheet music (you don't care). It will be useful now, the next year, and every year there after.
The Wii is awesome and I really want it, but is getting a Mac a better alternative?
Don't give me Wii=250 and Mac= 2000, I already know.
Well i use a mac computer at school and its slow,but its old so i dont know about the newer ones,i say wii,but is your computer not working so well or u just want another computer.just asking
this question doesn't make sense to me. how can you compare a mac computer and a wii gaming system? a mac is made for computer stuff like the things you listed and yeah i guess you could play games on it...but if you were really looking for a platform to play games on you should buy a wii or some other console system. to me a mac and a wii are two entirely different things and probably shouldn't be compared.

um if you can spend $2000 why buy a Mac? Get a PC, at least then you'll have the ability to play games on it, thus negating the need for a console (mostly). Also, if you know how to properly use a PC, it does give you more power then a Mac, Mac's are mostly used in buisness environments and such for the sake of stability, for home use PC's are normally better.

Macs pwn PC's but that isn't what this thread is about. can u show me what we are comparing first a pc which is fully upgradable to be a supreme power house and is faster or are we comparing those pos dells to a mac that cant be upgraded that much and is slower than a pc.
PC pretty much = Windows... 'nuf said ;-) I've been using Mac's for about 15 years now. At work I use Windows PC's... and i hate them, really hate them.
You want both, but there is a substantial difference in price. Unlike a Mac or almost any computer, a Wii is not going to become outdated in half a year. (Actually it will with the DVD player going in, but who cares about owning another DVD player set up to a TV that probably already has one?)

More power in a PC? Don't lie to him. I would easily bought a Mac if it wasn't for the games. Macs are superior because of it's OS, Windows just su*ks.

OS X Leopard is gonna be released March and the iPhone is being released in the summer so I'm pretty sure Apple is gonna capitalize on this and make really sweet deals.

i'd say get the wii first because it will be relevant for a lot longer than a computer will be. plus, it will take you much longer to save up for a computer
get your homework done faster with a mac? how would a wii help with homework? if you need a computer get a mac, and get a wii when their easier to find.
i switched to Mac over 5 years ago... i would NEVER go back to WINDOWS... i LOVE never having to worry about bugs and crashes.... everything just works on my mac. ive gone thru 2 macs so far and i have NEVER EVER had a problem. when i had a PC i knew all the computer repair shops and knew everyone by their names who worked there. Now... i dont even know where those shops are any more... those people use to tell me to NEVER get a mac.... i see why now... cuz they lost my business... a computer repair shop is obsolete when you have a Mac...
