am i the only person excited at the prospect of wii ware? unless i am stupid or blind or both (quite possibly) i have not seen many people mention it

in the the hands of indie devs, we could see a whole host of innovative new games that the big money devs wouldn't dare entertain cos they are big greedy sequal making turds. i would love to see odd and bizarre "games" that may not warrant a full price, but for a small fee, entertain me with fresh ideas. it almost harks back to the home computer days when nerds in bedrooms could produce great games with great playability on a shoestring budget with limited capacities. de blob started as a student project, so there is ideas out there from people not within the traditional dev market. i would rather buy a few wii ware games that offer something new than pay full price for a ps2 port anyday

i just hope nintendo do it justice

You're not alone. I'm excited as well. I'll download Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Young King Land and Dr.Mario. I might get Bomberman and Star Soldier R.

Inie developers have made some truly awesome games! Assault heroes and everyday shooter are the first two downloadable games that come to mind that were truly awesome! so yah i'm excited! some of these games have the potential to be better then a majority of the third party crap that comes out for wii.

I haven't heard much about it I can't say yes but that's because I know almost nothing about it, I think it's a cool idea from what I've heard about it. Could somebody tell me more details other than you can download some games off it (do you buy with wii points, some choices to get ect.)

Isn't Wii Ware the system you use to get new Wii channels? I thought the way you by old games was through the Virtual Counsle (?).

Wiiware is also the home for the games he mentioned. Wii is going to have 2 downloadable services on the shop channel. The Wiiware could be the home of remakes of old games. Dr.Mario is one remake that will be made and it will be online.

According to some developers, it's coming in March. I'll wait on the GDC. Nintendo is holding a keynote for the Wiiware.

There's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The young king land (the graphics are awesome for this game), Dr.Mario (remake and it will be online), Star Soldier R, Bomberman, a Pokemon game, Gravitonix, Plattchen (a shooter puzzle), a Ping pong game, Project BANG,...

There's also a rumours that WWF No Mercy would be remade for Wiiware. I could see sequels of the mini-games from Wii Play as well.

That's what I know now.

These games willbe downloadable the same way as the VC games are. You'llneed wiipoints. According to Iwata, there were over 100 projects for the Wiiware.

I'm ready for wiiware, I've actually been ready for some time now, hopefully the games are at least 15 dollars and cheaper, and we get a harddrive.
