If there was any chance nintendo could bring out a webcam, microphone and have ether msn or its own nintendo instant messenger do you think this could work and make more people buy a wii for more fun including talking to your friends on msn if you get bored of the games. friend codes wont be an issue because all you will be talking to is your contacts that u no and love so theres no harm there please let me know what u peeps think .. thanks

Personally, I think someone needs to license Trillian for a console messaging system.

well Trillian is not really the thing that would need the licence on a console it would be Yahoo, Aim and MSN as it would still need to go through them three since its pretty much using all of them plus if Nintendo were to do it I am sure it would be a single company one probably if opera ever decided to do one but even then I am sure it would require friend codes to work, plus I can't see msn being used on anything other than an Xbox 36o since it is Microsoft after all.

Well I don't think this would work.

Microsoft wouldn't let Nintendo use their software so you can't make an MSN Channel on the Wii Menu.
and the Internet Channel doesn't support Pop-Upsat the moment so you can't use MSN Web Messenger.

So I don't think this would work. It could work with a different messenging software. I'm actually surpirsed that they didn't inclued like Picochat which could connect online and to DS', But oh well. :(

it will never happen strictly because nintendo doesnt want perverts/pedophiles/sex offenders communicating with kids through their consoles (especially considering there is a caera involved). this is why nintendo is very strict on their decision to use Friend Codes, so they can stop stufff like that from happening. And as far as i'm concerned, people wouldnt buy a wii for something like this because it far cheaper to use your PC for something like this.

I know that, I may of mis-worded but what I meant was that the Wii (Not the DS, I know the DS' Picochat software can't go online) should have come with Online Wi-Fi compatible Picochat software (Or something similar) that could also connect to the DS.

oooo ok ok, well now that would have been great, but still we have the mails, unfortunately they are slow and can take even days to get to the other console.
