For all of you doubting that the Wii Wheel will work better than the Wii Remote by itself and that it is just a peice of plastic that defeats the versitile purpose of the remote- think again!

OK so I never got to try out the OFFICIAL version of the wheel, but I got to use a peice of plastic 3rd party one that works almost as good! I played Need for Speed: Carbon with it.

When I first asked to borrow this seemingly peice of junk from a friend I thought it would be... well a peice of junk. Well all that changed after I got to play it! It makes everything better! It fixes your grip on the remote, adds weight to it, feels more comfortable, is more accurate, and just feels more natural than the other method where the buttons are facing up and you tilt it that way.

Then I asked my dad to try it out. (Now keep in mind that he tried Carbon before, without the wheel, and he didn't do too well.) So after the first minute he really started to get the hang of it and he told me that it certainly works much better than the other method he thought was weird. Then the cops got him, and he started pulling off some sharp turns, and he was actually doing quite well for someone who can't get past the Good Egg Galaxy.

So there you have it. The Wii Wheel works, but keep in mind it will work eve better because it has a button extendor thing at the back that makes it easier to press the B button.

Thanks for the wii wheel post. Do you think this will be good for other racing games like Need For Speed?

Hah it's his second post, I guess it's okay. Not really.

That's good to hear, I'll give it a try for sure, probably end up on the GC anyway.

No! Don't go for the GC, it's the Wii generation, go for the motion sensing. Master it, become one with it. Own people online with the golden steering wheel and soon they will learn the benifits of motion sensing. Seriously, we should start 'something' to get more people using the Wii Wheel.

Yeah, I'm with you 100%

My girlfriend would play Carbon and would be trying to make sharp turns and get frustrated. She would turn too much and the remote wouldn't register it as turning.

When I put an Intec wheel on the remote, she was able to control her car more efficiently.

I can't wait until GameStop opens so I can get Mario Kart Wii!

i'd love to use the wii wheel for mario kart. I've planned to the moment they announced its coming with the game. I think that people are saying the Kart wheel is even better than the NFS one you are talking about, or i think thats the game that comes with it or something, so i'm glad. I would have gone motion sensing for brawl too, but they didnt have it :P i dont use the wiimote/nunchuck only cause i find it too awkward, its like evolving the controller so you have to adapt, which im too lazy to do. But with the steering, its a whole new controller thats easy to use so i'd be more than happy to use it. plus, i loved Excite truck so something that resembles it is good.

I got MKWii this morning and I tried out all the control methods and I found the Wiimote + Nunchuck was the easiest to use. I still prefer to use the Wiil though because motion controls are freaky cool.
