wii-mote turning purple

hello!..well I was wondering if this has happened to you

I play every two days mario kart wii like for 2 hours. I wash my hands everytime before i start to play but yesterday i realized the the 2 button is turning purple!! i need to know if this has happened to you cause my brother will just kill me if i don't explain what happened!

Purple? Never heard of that happening before. Is your soap purple? That's the only explanation I can think of.

I've heard of wires turning pinkish, but buttons... no. Just say you modified his button :D

Do you eat blue berries while playing? :P

Can't say I've ever seen wiimote buttons turning any colors before. The only remotely close thing I've seen is the analog sticks on the cl@ssic controllers turning yellow.

i tried to erase that purple circle around the button but it just won't!!..any suggestions about what to tell my brother so he won't kill me?ceresar

That cant be it... I never heard of it turning purple before... I dont think it's anything serious though...

Wow, that's truly odd... and just around the 2 button. I wonder if it's something that's leaching out from inside the Wiimote. It's possible, since the rubber stuff underneath the 1 and 2 buttons is grey, which can leach purple I suppose. But then, why only the 2 button?

Do you or your brother have a sweater or shirt that has purple on it? It's possible that the dye from it could have gotten on your hands and transferred to the wiimote.

Okay so here's some suggestions in order of increasing desperation for getting the colour off. First: Remove the batteries!!!

1) Try some soap and a water-moistened cloth. Make sure to not get water inside the wiimote.

2) Try any kind of Melamine cleaner. This is the safest bet.

For the next suggestions, make sure to test this out on a small area of the wii remote before going full out. These solutions could possibly remove the shine from the wiimote by scratching the plastic.

3) Try some laundry detergent mixed with water on a moistened cloth. Don't get moisture inside the wiimote.

4) Try some rubbing alcohol and rub at the stain. Let it sit for a bit. Then rub on some vinegar.

5) Try something mildly abrasive, like Vim. Don't rub hard.

I can tell you right now that my 2 button is slightly changing to a darker colour.

Purple?!??

I've heard of yellow and grayer colors but uh you must have some weird chemicals... or a plum or something stuck on your wiimote.

Yea the yellow thing annoys me. It seems like I play with dirty hands or something.

But back to the topic... I'm not sure what to say. I never heard of purple stuff on the Wiimote.

You can barely see it. If your brother is pissed about that for more than 5 minutes he needs to get a hobby.
