WiiSpeak Backwords compatablility

Does anyone know if theres going to be any way to use this new device backwords or does it have to be supported???
I assume it has to be supported, But some one on IGN said somewhere (source needed) that "We cant wait to play MK Wii with this" Im confused anyone have any clue?

It should also you should be able to talk to friends from the Wii message boards.

Another thing I was hoping for and is nearly impossible is BC with MotionPlus. Meaning the same motions as before in each/some games but with much more responsiveness.
