One complaint I've heard now that the WiiMotion+ is out is that you constantly have to recallibrate it. This would be a huge problem in a Zelda game since it has a huge focus on Combat. So, if you have to recallibrate a lot, wouldn't that ruin the whole experience? I can see how it'd be good for arrows and boomerangs, and certainly swordplay sounds good on paper, but will it actually work?

lol you don't HAVE to recalibrate it a lot it just happens that the games out at the moment MAKE you well virtua tennis makes you do it before every match for absolutely no reason at all and you don't even notice grand slam tennis recalibrating unless your ADHD (ADD to you americans) and can't keep your hand still for 2 seconds! never played tiger woods so wouldn't know

actually, i miss the LACK of combat focus on the zelda series, but that's not the point i doubt myiamoto will let a zelda game be released if it's anything less than perfect.

That whole constant recalibration thing is a bunch of nonsense especially the ones that were saying every 10 secs. I think the only reason you would do it in GST is because after every point you have to restart so to say. Look at Red Steel 2 there was no mention of any recalibration in all the hands on.

That's true I haven't thought of that. I'm still not too familiar with the Motion+ yet. I've just heard from people that say, VT, requires a lot of recalibration.

It's true that callibration has to happen often, but this can run in the background. For instance, everytime you hold the wiimote strait up, the game will auto-recalibrate. Calibration only takes one second after all.

how does it know you're holding it straight up though if it was uncalibrated and that's why it needed to be calibrated in the first place :( I've never used M+ so I don't know what I'm talking about but I heard about the need to calibrate it a lot too and that would be a serious killer in terms of flow in gameplay if you had to set your wiimote down every 15 seconds to be able to play the game right.

The wiimote knows, and wiimote never gets uncalibrated because of it's tilt sensors. The wiimote is pointed up, or down, or whatever is best for the game, then the wiimote tells M+ that it's in the calibration position. M+ then recalibrates assuming it has a second or so of time to do so.

Remember, the wiimote and M+ are two different devices communicating with eachother.

ah so they're in cahoots to secretly adjust their settings together. Clever stuff. Combine communicating machines like these with the creepy AI of Milo and boom, terminators.

Can't you think for yourself?
Does recalibrating every 10-15 seconds REALLY sounds credible? :|

Miyamoto and Nin. would never allow a Zelda title to be released that is less than stellar.

If it needs to be recalibrated a lot, Zelda might work well, but the re-callibration would get annoying...

early games would not represent how future MP games will play. Also unless your swinging the sword every second which i doubt it would adjust itself without your noticing wouldn't it?
