Do you have one of those HDTVs infamous for display lag that screws with a player's timing? If so, I don't know for sure. Obviously, it won't do anything for Internet-related latency.

Please don't say, "Get a better connection." I personally have cable, play with people 20 minutes from me and it still has terrible unexcusable lag. They shouldn't even have online as its an embarassment to themselves for how abysmal it is.
Yeah they blew the online in the game but thats not what i meant, sorry. Just sitting here playing on my tv there is a lag. I have a big screen DLP and i'm only using the stock white, red, and yellow AV cord. Will the HD cables fix that, or help it at least??

DLP's generally lag I believe. You may be stuck with it.
