My wii is in my room on the second story and my router is in the basement. I always lose my connection and get the message "you have been disconnected from the network". in the room next to mine there is a another computor. it has an antenna thing on the top to get the internet which works great. Should i get an nintendo wifi usb adapter and put it on the computor in that room?

It won't work seeing as Wii probably won't accept the adapter. The best option is to get a wifi repeater(not sure if that's what they are officially called). Basically a wifi repeater receives the wifi signal and rebroadcasts it so you have a wider range.

Are there any downsides to having a USB adapter?

The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB adapter works with the wii

Oh, I misread his post and thought he was talking about something else. :P The Nintendo Wifi Adapter will work, but I don't recommend it. You have to have your computer on to use it which is annoying. And when ever a connection is made the wifi adapter icon on your computer will make a noise and have a pop up saying a user is connected. This would be okay if it wasn't for the fact that WiiConnect24 will do this every three or four mintues which is really annoying.

i would recomend the nintendo usb wifi adapter, i have one and it works great, i dont have any pop up noises like those mentioned. the only downside i can think of is that if you want to go wifi with ps3 or 360 it wont be compatible, other than that, thats it.
