I don't necessarily think they have to, but I reallybelieve Nintendo sometime down the road will start to bundle WM+ with the system. And if they replace the original Wii Sports with Resort, it would provide an established piece of software that really displays what the new tech can do. Furthermore, if they wanted to do it for this holiday season or later, it would really help to push sales of games that use or require +, since by next year I assume many more games will make use of it, and I doubt every game will have an optional bundle for the device as time goes on.

I also think it would be wise to provide plus late in the life of the Wii, since I don't think Nintendo will want to gimp new owners in terms of what their hardware can do. Inaddition, it could almost serve at Ninty's Wii price cut, since Resort and Wii Motion Plus are markedly more expensive than just Wii Sports.

Maybe this all just depends on how many games actually use + in the future.

Yeah I'm sure of that. But will they also bundle it with a game that uses it and keep the price at $250? I'm just wondering if Nintendo will do this in the future. I believe so.

Maybe. It would be a very sound idea. An even better idea would be to intergrate it and the sensor into their next controller. That way, you could have some form of sensory built into the controller, without having to plug it into a port. But then again, you have to think about rumble, nunchuck, motionplus, and speaker, all in one controller. Bundle M+ with the system and take over the world.

Hopefully. I think everyone should experience WM+, assuming it's as good as all the previewers are saying. It's the revolution that the Wii is supposed to be.

I agree. I guess my thinking is that I want it to be seen as essential to the Wii as the Wiimote itself; that way we'll be guaranteed a lot of great support for it by 3rd parties in the future. WM+ is a bit of a harder sell to casuals than say, the Balance Board, which offers something very unique and easy to understand. It also appeals to the weight loss culture that is extremely popular right now. WM+ is really just an enhancement whose impact is great but it is more subtle to actual observe. It improves the already existing tech of the Wii remote, but it doesn't offer the sea change that we've seen from prior Ninty hardware. I think the only way to truly promote it to the uninitiated is to put it in the hands of as many as possible - just like the Wiimote and Wii Sports. I have no doubt that the upcoming bundles that feature it will help. I just don't think we're going to see anywhere near the numbers of Wii Fit or Wii Play with any of them combined - Resort included. But I want as many people as possible to own one. Putting millions of them in consumers home will only lead to more developers devoting time to making software that takes advantage of WM+, and that's what we should be looking forward to.

They definitely should. They need to increase market penetration as much as possible to assure that developers actually support the thing. We don't want another E-Reader on our hands. They need to decrease the number of essential purchases to get the complete Wii experience. If you have to buy the console, plus the Balance Board, plus MotionPlus, you're almost defeating the Wii's price advantage over its competitors.

Exactly. The more I think about it, the more likely it seems we will see some sort of bundle/cost cutting method by the end of this year. That is, unless everything just continues selling like hotcakes leading up to Christmas, which with the Big N is always possible.

I'd imagine that after it releases they would bundle it with systems, just like they did with the Wii-mote jackets and better wrist straps...any improvements on the technology you are buying should be available when you buy the technology.
