for more than 20 years nintendo has put mario, luigi, wario,prinses peach,link,gannon, zelda,sammus and many other notable characters on there great consoles,the only question is will these characters ever get old? ever? Will there be a zelda game 10 years from now, even 20 years from now?Would thesefranchises still be fresh after that long, will they? What do you think?
The new gamers don't know who are these characters, so they are new for them. But I do think that Nintendo has to create new franchises. At least one to see what happens. Imagine a new Nintendo character with his own game... it would be great!
if anything zelda would last forever, but i really think the core franchises will keep going, mainly zelda and mario. and maybe pokemon >.>JiMMay
No, not Pokemon. It had it's fame and fortune, now it's slowly disinigrating. Zelda will probably get old too, since people will only want to solve so many puzzles before their brains explode. As for Mario, adding more and more characters wont help. Look what happened to Sonic.

personally I think the text in zelda is getting pretty old, the next zelda game should have voice acting IMO, but Link wouldn't talk of course.
