Seriously, the Nintendo Wii has many admirable features but is anyone else tired off all the cheap crap mini game bundles out there? I would like to see some interesting titles come out for the Wii that are more mature and can keep you playing... How about some FPS? (not Red Steel) or some sweet RPGs that utilize the Wii-mote? Game developers could even pull off some RTS with the Wii's innovative controller. I'm just tired of seeing games like Cooking Mama and other such child games.

 Please post your thoughts.

They're making the kind of games that sell.  Nintendo never said they would be making a lot of, so called, mature games, so I don't understand why people get mad at them for not making them.

hmmm. very true... that is why you should not live off just a Wii if you have an urge for adult games. Get a 360 or PS3.

I'm sick of people complaining about kiddy games on the Wii. For some reason, Nintendo is the only company that realizes that kiddy games are NEEDED. They're the ONLY platform that delivers them. If I had a kid, I wouldn't want to have Dead Rising or Gears of War as options. If you really need mature games, just get a 360 or a PS3; plain and simple. If Nintendo only released age 4-and-up games, I'd be complaining too. But this isn't the case at all. We all just need to remember that more complicated games take a longer time to release, and that's how it should be.

PLAY THE GODFATHER FOR WII! It is violent, for example you can throw people off of roofs, strangle them, choke them, set them on fire with motalive cocktails, and shoot them and that is part of it. In other words there will be more m-mature games for the wii. There coming out with manhunt, sadness, resident evil umbrella chronicles. So you just need to be paitent.

Only children think the way you do.

As an ADULT, I could care less about the image of a game, but whether or not it is fun.  I play games for fun, not to look cool.  The funny thing is, many adults think that violent games are childish.  Why do you think there are so many non-gamers to begin with?

WHile i agree I also disagree i play games for fun but nintendo tends to have very shallow games on their systems with little fun EX. GC had an overkill with the platformers GBA had Pokemon, and now WII with the minigames. This seems to be a bad trend with the shallow game play (mature games dont always mean violent but mabey deeper games)

As another poster said, the Wii isn't a system that you should live on alone. You need a system to supplement the Wii (XBOX 360) if you want the deeper, more "mature" games you are talking about. But give it some time, the Wii is getting some awesome titles this year!

Eh...yeah, well I think the minigames are a nice introduction to the Wii, it's not every day that we get handed a new device

We need to wait a little bit more for the great games to come out, and I bet you now that devs are gaining knowledge about the Wii, they'll start churning out better games....so next year will be awesome, really looking forward to a less cocky, no rockin Sonic game

Well, it didn't really happen on the DS, so I don't see it happening here. There will always be companies willing to make a quick buck on a port with simple Wiimote or stylus features added.

Take heart though, my friend! The DS has seen a wealth, if not a flood of excellent releases by second and third parties in the last two years. I see this trend and have hope for the future of the Wii.

I'm tired of minigames but it will never stop. The Wii is the better system of the 3 for minigames.

Deal with it, like I do.

You know as well as I do that the only games being released aren't necessarily minigames.  There are plenty of options out there for everyone that will only grow as time passes.

All consoles have shallow games, there's really no need to single out the Wii.

Also, you seem to be confusing "mature" with "hardcore".

The Wii's going through an expiramentation process, so for a while, yes, crappy chile mini-game fests will be ALL OVER the Wii.  Hell, honestly, they'll probably be there forever.  But we'll see a steady stream of releases once the system gets it's wings, and games will improve with time, just like they always do.

I don't care if they're childish minigames or adult oriented minigames.  Minigames are not worth $50.

maybe the OP should of have waited before getting a wii when "his kind" of games were not available on it ?

the lesson you can take from this is dont buy a system for what it is, buy it for the games YOU want, simple as that

Cooking Mama isn't really a kids game. Its more of an old person's game I think. Kids get board way too fast. Anyhow, No, the kid games will never go away. They come out on every platform though...

agreed.

Even though some mini games can be mildly amusing they do tend to get old very quickly (except fusion frenzy lol). I didnt purchase to Wii, i recieved it as a gift and to tell you the truth I hadnt anticipated to amount of mini games that would be coming out for it. Yea every system has them but the Wii happens to have more. And i do agree about the one post of the DS and how it now has many good games and about being patient. I would just like to see more games that arnt child oriented come out at a faster pace.

If you can't find games with a decent story, you could always read a book, plenty of them have decent stories.

Minigames are not worth $50.izzyjunior

That doesn't stand up to mathematical analysis.  A four player game generates four times as many man/hours of fun as a single player game.  Four people playing WarioWare for ten hours have the same amount of fun as one person playing Zelda for 40 hours.  If you don't like party games, that's OK with me, we all like different things.  But I feel like a multiplayer game is worth a lot more than a single player game.  I played WindWaker through 3 or 4 times, I probably got 100 man/hours of fun out of it.  The amount man/hours of fun my copy of Mario Party 4 has generated dwarfs that.
