So my Wii makes loud sounds when I put a disc in it (there's got to be a better way to say that). Some games are louder than others, GC games are typically less noisy. It's been doing this for quite awhile now, since Animal Crossing came out last year. First of all, has anybody had this problem, and is it a big deal? Do I need to get it fixed? I'm not having any loading/freezing/overheating issues at all. Just loud noises.

I am wondering, though, since the Conduit is really pushing the Wii to it's limits, if it will potentially cause some problems. I no longer have a warrenty, so I'd have to pay 70+ dollars to get it fixed. I mean, will it make my Wii overheat, will it explode? I want to know before I get the game tuesday.

first of all, the shipping date is tuesday, don't bother going to your store til wednesday or they will likely not have it and it'll have wasted your time. Only sunday releases tend to actually be in stores on sunday. second of all most wii's make that clicking sound. Its just what they do. Mine always does it and it never caused any kind of problem. don't worry about it.

Yes, I've had that happen with certain games. I wouldn't worry about it, but if it is bothering you that much you can always call Nintendo and see what they have to say. The Conduit isn't any different than any other game. The games that will give you the most trouble are the dual-layered ones and I highly doubt the Conduit will be dual-layered. Your Wii will not overheat if it is working properly.

yes as far as I know brawl is the only dual layered game and some wii owners did have trouble caused by it and had to have their laser cleaned or something. does brawl work on your wii? yes? good then anything you throw in there should work just fine

My Wii tends to make strange noises occasionally too so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm pretty excited for the Conduit, but I don't think it'd be so freakin' amazing to the extent that it causes your Wii to explode. :P

this thread is probably gonna be locked, but who cares! lol

actually, i fear that, too. my wii is as quiet as a sleeping baby, but the conduit looks so awesome sometimes that i think that the moment i insert the game disk, it will scream, cough and die.

yeah after some kids put in their shiny new midnight release copies of brawl only to find their lasers sucked and their warranties expired the idea of getting such a highly anticipated title only to have wii fail is a scary thought. I mean nothing will go wrong but paranoia man. This isn't healthy. Conduit needs to come out NOW so we can all put our fears to rest

My Wii's disc reader stopped working well and it was making a lot of noise whenever I put in a disc. If you start getting disc read errors, then you better send it in. The Conduit itself won't overheat your Wii, unless you play it 24/7.

I highly doubt The Conduit will overheat your Wii. It's not like the game will cause your Wii to explode due to an overload of awesomeness. I wish the game was out already!

Heh, I always thought my Wii was the only one making weird noises. Glad to see it's not just mine.

Thanks. Glad to know my Wii isn't the only one that makes strange noises. Since Brawl works fine, I guess it'll be okay.

My Wii makes weird noises on intensive games, i.e. Brawl. However, I wouldn't worry about The Conduit overheating it at all, just keep it well ventilated in a cool environment (fan, ac, open space).

youll know when your wii is overheating if it slows down or has artifacts. Every chipset has a heat limit, and when it hits the last cool point it will begin to slow down so it wont overheat. dont worry. Only time your wii is overheating is if you see artifacts or it takes 5 min to load your wii menu

artifacts or little pixels that appear on the screen and disort the video a little depending on how hot the system gets. It appears on defective wiis.

Notice the unussual green dots on the screen. Mario galaxy is more graphic intensive than the conduit so if you never got artifacts from galaxy then u wont on the conduit

so artifacts are like dead pixels... but they're not really dead, since they work fine usually... ZOMBIE PIXELS!!!! O_o
