And are there pics?

'The newest addition to the Nintendo DS family, DSi, has clearer sound quality and a surprisingly sharp image quality when in photo mode.'
That's a quote I just found re. sharpness of the screen.
Why would they enhance the graphics? then you couldn't play DS games on your DS anymore (you'd have to play them on the DSi).Minishdriveby
Yeah, because then the DSi would actually be a successor, rather than just a revision, to the the DS.

agreed
Adding all of these bells and whistles to a handheld, it's simply just too overwhelming.
I like that I can play my VC games from an SD card on my Wii now, I don't like that people can play these games on their handheld now, it will just open up yet another window of stuff. There's too many windows! Nintendo's focus has been on hardware too much lately, when really their focus should be on software, and making the franchises they already have better.
dude do ur research carefully, the new dsi is only 0.3 megapixels not 3 megapixels, and i thinki a waste of money all that meida compabalilty i can get that on my mp3 and psp slim, what we gamers need are better gaming expereicnce such as better graphics( and i do own a nds lite)golden-biscuit
The are two cameras. The inner camera (located on the hinge) is 0.3MP, while the outer camera (on the lid) is 3MP.
He's right it's only 0.3 megapixels.
Look...

From the 5th slide on the page:
For cell phones and digital cameras, manufacturers have been increasing the number of pixels in order to appeal to consumers. However, we have taken almost the opposite approach. We cannot boast about the resolution as the camera for DSi has the 300,000 pixels resolution.
I wonder why nintendo couldn't just make the screen the same size as the upcoming DSi one from the start?
Also, DSi camera is only 0.3 mp on both and I have an old LG camera phone with 0.3mp camera and it's not good at all. Maybe Sony's PSP could support better camera since its graphics are more advanced?
I wonder why developers don't max out the graphics quality on the DS in the process while keeping the fun gameplay on it?
Why would they enhance the graphics? then you couldn't play DS games on your DS anymore (you'd have to play them on the DSi).MinishdrivebyAny graphical improvements would only effect DSi Ware, a replacement for the GBA slot. It makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE for Nintendo to randomly abandon the best selling handheld on the market and I question your intelligence for even thinking they'd do that. @TC: The improved specs have the potential for improved graphics, but the DSi is still relatively new and there's hardly any software available so no one's tried to push the hardware yet. Everything that's been discussed in this thread (except the camera quality-it's actually 0.3mp) is pure speculation and should be disregarded. There's no way to know if there will be games with better graphics for the DSi unless Nintendo annouces it or until DSI w\Ware is released that is obviously to much for the current models of the DS to handle. About the Camera: As long as it looks good on the DSi's screen, it's fine. The camera's res is 640x480 and the DSi's screen is 256x192.
