will the Wii have a headset

ok people...we need to start a debate on the nintendo wiiis headset making..we really have to strike a soloution to this whole headset thing....because to tell you the truth i really want this damn thing.... if theres anyone out there who does not want a Wii headset i would like to know why the hell not!!..i take back the debate thing in this topic because there is NOTHING to debate!!..i dont think that anyone is going to turn this down!! for example: i play FIFA 08 online and its great!! i love it! but...i also had experienced playng FIFA 08 on my friend's XBOX 360.. and i dont know why but being able to talk, aquaint, or make fun of my apponent made my gaming experience that much better!! i also played batallion wars 2 online which by the way is a great online game.. and...well..what can i say..it was all a big disaster! how can i play an online coopertive match without knowing what my teammates are doing!! I have to know where their going, what their up to, hell.. i even want to tell then how stupid they are sometimes!.. look... if theres no headset soon.. nintendo will upset about 80% of the online Wii gamers!

ya actually being able to communicate online with team mates and even opponents really does add a lot to the gaming experience!

i made a ton of freinds playing games on my freinds xbox online and still play with them often.

voice chat doesnt have to be released with brawl. it can be added later. I do think nintendo will release voice chat eventually, but not just yet.

Voice would be fine, I just wish we could filter out all of the little annoying kids, and the guys that just want to ruin it for everyone and micspam.

I hope they at least add Friend Voice chat sometime soon.

My state has telephone service in like at least 4 houses, if I want to talk I'll just call someone when playing

I don't really care if they do.

If they did however I would use it when playing with friends

The perfect reason (at least to me) why Brawl and other online Nintendo games don't have voice chat, taken from an IGN article:

Masahiro Sakurai: When thinking about this game and when realizing that we were going to do Wi-Fi, we had to think a lot about the whole idea of communication over the Internet. When we were doing this, one of the things that we paid a lot of attention to is the fact that there are a lot of unpleasant experiences to be had out there, be that being insulted over the Internet or that sort of thing. You know, it's one thing if you're used to it and you're playing a first-person shooter online with 16 people and you know these guys and you're trading insults back and forth and yelling at each other, that's all well and good. But when you've got new players, and one thing I've aimed to do is to really bring new players into the fold, if this is their first online experience I want it to be a pleasant one. I want to dodge and avoid those kinds of situations that could make the whole experience online psychologically damaging or unpleasant, so that's one of the reasons we've decided not to include that feature.

Now I can understand how voice chat would help and enhance the gameplay in a game like Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, but the Wii doesn't have many games out on the market like this. The feature will come eventually, probably when the first Pay to Play game comes out, but right now there's really no game that calls for voice chat. I could see how it could be cool in Mario Kart, if you can get people not to drop f-bombs into the mic when they get taken out by a blue shell just before the finish line, but it's not necessary at all. Want to slam anonymous people online? Well...there's the 360 or the PC.

Still its hard to imagine playing SSBB or any other online game without a headset.

k i know for a fact that there will be a headset cuz theres one for the DS and i read it on im pretty it was GS where the asked Reggie and hes like they are planning to release one but they gotta work things out, he just left his statement aas there will be one in the future and IGN predicts that nintendo will get a voice chat where the vocie will come out the tv speakers so parents can monitor the online but a 3rd party will come oot with a headset to overide dont ask me for a link cuz i cant remember where it is but if i find it ill post it, but honestly its not a big deal to me becasue if i wanna trash talk ill invite friends over and paly brawl not trash talk some kid across the planet cuz i know for a fact ill get vicious

first of all yeah online is hindered by lack of headset. Example MOH. Team games are a NIGHTMARE without communication. "Enemy Spotted" is useless when theres no means of telling where your ally is. "Enemy spotted in the bunker in the base" tells me exactly where my enemy is.

its chaos without good communication which is why I usually stick to DM (that and I can kill everyone I see not select people :D *

second DS has a headset and they've hinted at a wii one. maybe an update will let us use it in brawl. I sure hope so

Well you basically said the reasons why Nintendo DOESN'T want to add voice chat in your first post. They want people to enjoy the online gaming part of the game. If they aren't very good and somebody else is yelling "noob!" and making fun of them, then they obviously won't be having much fun. I would like to see a headset, but if there is one I'd be willing to bet that Nintendo would only allow voice chat in friend battles or whatever else it would be. Just friends only.Ospov
