I was just wondering if the graphics for the Wii U will at least be as nice as 360 and PS3 is now. If they aren't what is nintendo thinking? Im a big nintendo fan and I'll always go out and buy any of their new consoles that come out, but if the graphics aren't that great, C'mon man I probaly won't get it.

They will be better than the Xbox 360 and PS3. Rumored around 4 to 5 times more powerful than the old consoles. The Wii U, and Sony's/Microsoft's new console will not be any where near PC-quality though.

I hate to be "that guy", but why limit your purchases and enjoyment by the visuals? Games don't need the latest graphics to be fun. But yes, Wii U will be more powerful than the PS3/360, how much so is still to be determined.

Im glad to hear that it will be more powerful than the 360 and PS3. I agree with you that games don't need great graphics to be fun but if the Wii U wasn't as powerful as last gen consoles it would be extremly disappointing on nintendos part.

X1300 wouldn't be enough for HD resolutions. It's supposedly based on AMD/ATi R700 series GPUs (DX10.1 compatible while 360 and PS3 are based off DX9 graphics tech).

I hear that it will be able to do 1080p fluidly whicih it will be already more power than the ps3 or x360. So as long as it looks along the lines of that Zelda Demo they showed I will be content.

I doubt it will be as powerful as the Nextbox (niether will be as powerful as PC's now, much less when they launch)

But this time graphics aren't the big hitter, since honestly IMO graphics have been ok for a few years now, opitmization and gameplay is what needs to be focused on now. Not to mention the ability to play used games, so we can borrow back and fourth with friends, and rent games like gamefly/redbox. (looks at rumors around the nextbox and used games).

I honestly haven't been this excited for a nintendo console since the N-64.

Well the fact that games will be 1080p is a huge benefit over 360 and PS3's upscaled 720p

That is due to the fact that PCs can always upgrade every so many months compared to consoles that upgrade every few years.

Wii U specs have been constantly changing according to numerous developers, so there is no way any rumored specs could be true.

First of all, Nintendo said that the Wii U will be more powerful than the current consoles, but not 4 or 5 times times more powerful. Secondly, the actual hardware of these new consoles will pale in comparison to PCs, but that doesn't mean the graphics will, at least at first. Devs will be developing new games for the consoles then porting them to PCs, but upscaling isn't usually at its strongest right when a new platform comes out (look at 360 release titles and their PC counterparts).

Of course it will have better graphics than current gen consoles. But by how much, we wont know until atleast E3 but even then, I doubt Nintendo will release the specs.
