i hope so....but i hope they pick creatures that would be more suited to a game. i suppose they picked a tarrantula and scorpion as they are well known amongst the public. but the game was on the wrong side of rediculous at times (like a spinning attack and punching from the tarrantula) which was unfortunate. of course they had to do that as making it more realistic would involve the player waiting for hours before pouncing on prey and being almost completly blind (for the tarrantula anyway). i know this will sound a bit cringe worthy...but i think the concept could really use a bit of edutainment. pick a couple of creatures that actively hunt (so not a trap door spider :P), who have good eye sight and who do have skills and abilities that would lend themselves well to a game. then basically make a game where the player exeriences a day in the life of one of these creatures (with a bit of drama added of course). the game should also focus a bit more on the survival side rather than the action side. u need to keep fed, u need to find a mate, u need to avoid any predators and you need to rest. these elements should be factors in the gameplay and design. i cant think of any insects/arachnids off hand (i need to watch more "life in the undergrowth :P") that would fit the bill. maybe someone who knows more about that kind of thing could think of a few suggetions but yeah....id love to see a deadly creatures 2. despite my complaints about the first one...i still quite enjoyed it. the tarantulla level with the truck is my fav bit.

I would love a sequel to this game. The first one was quite good and with a few improvements, the sequel could be brilliant. Unfortunately, the last I heard was that the game wasn't selling well. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

I highly doubt it, this game bombed and THQ lost money due to it.

They actually picked a scorpion and tarantula because they thought those WERE the most suited for a game. The original idea was to play as the snake, but that didn't work out, so they changed to creatures that could do more (and different) things.

In all honesty, that would ruin it, and I don't think the devs would be interested in that type of simulation style game. It might be cool as a different game from a different developer, but it wouldn't fit in the Deadly Creatures universe.

I'd like to see the same type of game in a sequel but with a different story and a different environment. Let's see some nasty creatures from the jungle or something, or even in a more populated desert setting.

Heh, in looking for an interview that explains why they chose the two creatures they did, I found this quote from the lead designer: "And then we can do another one. I'd love to do one that takes on the predators of a different ecosystem." So if we do get a sequel -- cross your fingers -- it'll probably be the same type of game but in a much different setting. Sounds good to me.

Maybe a water based one instead? That'd be pretty cool.

The biggest concern I have with the first one is the inclusion of voice talent from Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Hopper. I can't imagine that came without a substantial expenditure increase, and in thinking back over the game, it does seem kind of strange that they'd get such big-name actors on the project, given how few lines they really had. I imagine that will probably impede their ability to turn a profit on the game (which is ultimately probably the make-or-break question with respect to whether we see a sequel).

Meh, I would like to know how much it cost for THQ to make this game and how much it will sell in six months before one is sure it lost money. Glad to be one of those who bought it, if they did make a sequel my change would be having an interconected Metroid like world as opposed to an overal linear set of levels, still a great and unique game.

While the sales havent been good, no game considers to bomb truly up until at least6 months.Normallyno company expects to recoup expenses in the first 3 or 4 weeks, thats ,from a business point, elegantly put, stupid.

There is a chance for it to pick up, like many other games.I wouldnt hurry on a sequel but i would be silly to condemm it after a month. There could be room for improvement just as well.

On a related note, has anyone seen any commercials for this game? They have a hilarious one up on game sites, and I'm sure some kind of commercial could be made of this. I think if those got widespread airtime, they would easily help it sell.
