These are two of my favorite games from NES and N64, respectively and I would love to be able to get them from the VC. How come they aren't available yet? you'd think for sure Pilotwings 64 would be but it isn't. Maybe Maniac Mansion is a problem with Lucasarts but that should be on the VC as well.
I'm surprised we never got a Pilotwings for GC or Wii. Wasn't it one of Nintendo's flagship franchises? Pilotwings 64 was the first game I played for N64. I begged my grandmother to let me use her credit card to rent the console from Blockbuster for a weekend and the only game they had was Pilotwings 64. All weekend long I played. I'm talking I didn't sleep. I was amazed at how realistic it was and how awesome the controls were. It's probably mad dated by todays standards but there is still a part of me that wants the nostalgic feeling of reliving that. Manic Mansion was just an off the wall game that I feel was ahead of it's time. The gameplay and story was so absurd and strange that it made it one of the best games I ever played for the NES.
I'm pretty sure that game was bad... but I remember loving that game as a kid (Because I was stupid).
I would like to see it on the Virtual Console though, so I could buy it then be like, "OMG!! I REMEMBER THIS!" then two minutes later say, "Wow, this game sucks. I can't believe I wasted $10 on it". Hahaha.
Which one? They're probably both terrible in retrospect, but nostalgia always gets me. Replaying Final Fantasy VII and Ocarina of Time recently really showed me how dated good games can get. When those both came out I didn't think anything could ever top them. Now they're almost impossible to play and they hurt your eyes because they look so bad haha.
Well, the people at Nintendo have a gameplan. They want to release new VC titles throughout the Wii's lifespan. So I'm sure you will see Pilot Wings on their some time or other. I see how you concerned, Pilot Wings was very fun.
Considering we now get 0 VC games a week, chances are really small that we will ever see any of these. Pilotwings maybe... but maniac mansion? Yeah, time to ebay yourself up a copy and the hardware to play it.
