Someone posted a thread in this board about how the Megaman Zero games are coming to the DS. I would like to see games like Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission come to the DS. Does anyone know if that is going to happen? I don't want to buy a game boy advance sp just to play those games, and i would have to, that or buy a ds lite. As of now, I only have a dsi, so I can't play game boy advance games, and i don't feel like paying $100 US dollars to buy the lite or the SP.

i doubt it

if it happened it would probably be downloadable like the virtual console

but usually games that get remade are because they are just as good as the current console

but ds game are a lot more advanced than the gba and a lot different with controls

and not to mention and extra screen that would be doing nothing

I disagree. you could make metroid fusion use the second screen as a map, kinda like castlevania dawn of sorrow. i think that could work out.

About the cat, i wonder if it is even real...xD Anyways, i would love for the gba games to come to the DS. I played some of Metroid Fusion on a used game boy advance sp, loved it, but the sp had problems, so i exchanged it for store credit. The majority of SPs that are used at Gamestop have scratched up screens, and i'm afraid i might buy one that will break down on me. Hence, I am thinking about whether it is worth it to buy a new SP, unless the DS will in the future get those great GBA titles.

So I take it you want crappy remakes? They didn't just add a map on Final Fantasy IV when they brought that to the DS. If you want to play GBA games, you'll just have to buy an SP. I don't suggest a Lite, as it gets annoying having a bigger system with one screen black all the time. Luckily, I still have my GameBoy Micro. Although I used to think the small screen was awesome, I kinda want an SP now... You could probably find an SP at a garage sale for about $20 (I guess you'll have to wait till spring/summer though...).

EDIT: Actually, I have heard that GBA games will be released threw the DSi Shop, but I really doubt they'll do that any time soon, especially adding a function for the bottom screen, they'll just be ports.

I said that the SPs at gamestop are in poor condition IMO...I'm kinda OCDish about screens that have even little scratches. If i wanted to buy one online, it could cost upwards from $100. I don't want to spend $100 on a system where i have only a few games i know i will like, such as Metroid Fusion, Zero mission, breath of fire, etc. And, I too have a game boy micro, but i hate using it for metroid fusion because in some places in the game, i have to use 3-4 buttons at the same time, and because of the way that the micro was designed, that can be very difficult. So I'm somewhat torn...I have the gba games i like to play, but a new SP is just too expensive.

Maybe you can find a plain GameBoy Advance laying around lol. I still have mine (came with Crystal version). Although no backlight and broken down and right buttons are a pain (thank you DBZ Taiketsu), it's still use able... Anyways, I know how you feel about the scratches, I hate them =/ Not sure what to tell you besides that....

I could easily buy the regular game boy advance, and i might be able to buy one in good condition on gamestop, but it lacks a bright light, so i don't think about buying them.

I don't think porting over a bunch of GBA games is really necessary. I'm probably going to give the megaman collection a shot though because these'll be my first games outside of the main series.

There are titles on the gba that i want, and for those games to come to the DS would be my advantage. I don't like a lot of the games on the DS for reasons, so I look toward titles on the gba.

That's what DSiWare could be used for: porting GBA games to the DS.

it would be cool if they used the DSiWare for porting gba games, i'd get one if that was the case, there are lots of gba games that i've always wanted to play but can't find them at like any store and then they might have them in the DSiWare thing! :D i wouldn't get for only that reason in case some of you were thinking that...
