He did appear on the gamecube with "Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes", which was a pretty decent game from what I've heard. And obviously, he is in Brawl as well. So you'd have to think there is at least a small possibility we will see another Snake game released for Nintendo, right?

Hard to say, maybe remakes... Or a side story (that would probably be very light in terms of story content.) Maybe something to do with Raiden, dunno... I think that a MGS game would be great on the Wii though, it's just all the fans and Kojima himself want to keep the story top notch, and not weigh it down to much with another game after he promised MGS4 would be the final chapter in the MGS series.

I doubt we'll see a Metal Gear Solid game on the Wii. At the very least, we're not going to see it anytime soon. I'm not even sure if Konami believes that a MGS game can do well on the system, especially with the way Twin Snakes did on the GameCube. Snake may be in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but we're talking about a game that was going to sell like crazy, with or without his appearance. I'll end this by saying that I'll be shocked if Snake makes a Wii encore in the coming years.

Yeah a re-make is the most likely scenario... Just as the gamecube Metal Gear game was a re-make of the original Metal Gear Solid for Playstation. I was never interested in the character until I saw him join the cast in Brawl. Now I really want to play the Metal Gear series. I find it hard to believe we won't see him eventually, considering he's in Brawl.

This is just speculation on my part, but is it possible that there exists a mutual understanding between Konami and Nintendo, in terms of Nintendo agreeing to feature their character in their game in exchange for a wii Metal Gear game down the road? I mean, it's such a brilliant strategy on Konami's part to have Snake in the game - it is attracting attention from gamers who may have never cared about Snake before now, such as myself. You gotta think Nintendo's looking to profit from this arrangement in some way also.

if they are in good enough terms to mesh up their high profile IPs like that, that means Sega and konami must be in really good standing with Nintendo> I am making a huge assumption here but there must be something cooking up and mean more than just Elebits. personally I havent seen that great of support from either company but maybe more will come.

Never.

The creator of the Metal Gear series already said that the franchise wont be coming to the Wii.

He wants to make games for the Wii but they will not be the Metal Gear games.

But wasn't there a similar attitude toward the Gamecube? (Actually, it was avoided like the black plague, was it not?) And yet, a Snake game ended up making its way to the system. In the end, you may be right... But given the release of the gamecube game, and the fact that Snake is now very much apart of the Nintendo family, I don't think it's impossible for a Metal Gear game to appear on the wii sometime in the future.

There's a possibility. But, remember that Samus appeared in Super Smash Bros. for N64 and there weren't any Metroid games for the system.

I kind of want to see a port of MGS 2 and MGS 3, because my PS2 is broken.

Objection!!!

There was an interview with Kojima in which he stated that he is working on bringing a Metal Gear game (a NEW Metal Gear game) to the Nintendo Wii because he has interest in working with the Wii Remote.

You have a link to this interview? Last time I heard, Hideo Kojima never wanted a MGS game on a Nintendo system.

The thing is the GameCube game was not even made by Kojima. It was a remake made by Sillicon Knights. Konami did help but not Kojima.

That's what I heard. I think a new original IP would be better than just make a remake.

i cant find a link since it was a long time ago, so all i can give you is my word. unless, of course, i read wrong but i'm 95% sure he wants to bring an MGS to the wii (most likely a spin off though)

I wouldn't mind a re-make at all since I've never played the Metal Gear series. In fact I'm probably going to rent "Twin Snakes" sometime soon. I'd be the first one in line to buy a port of the sequels if they came to the wii.

theni suggest you buy MGS: Essentials. Its a ps2 bundle that includes both mgs2 and 3's director's cut version of both games for $30. very well worth it. i suggest you get them. as for twin snakes, you might as well buy it. it costs $20 now and has tons of replayability.

Essentials contains Metal gear solid, metal gear solid 2:substance and metal gear solid 3: subsistence which includes updated versions of the MSX2 versions of metal gear and metal gear 2:solid snake.

I believe Twin Snakes did quite well on the GC there buddy. I wouldn't knock such a great game and agreat addition to the GC's great line-up (which I do believe was great.) I'm sure you enjoyed it too. I actually believe that because of that game and some other factors Metal Gear would've made an appearance on the Wii were it not for MGS4 being the last installment.

i dont think it sucks but its not that great esp for an entry title to the wii. If they are going to do something offbeat like that it needs to visuals and attention to match it.

I think that with the success of the wii, there might be that possibility later down the road, but that hasn't happened yet. If the wii continues to sell, then more companies might bring over their games to the wii like what capcom did with monster hunter 3 or what tecmo did with fatal frame. i'm surprised that most companies haven't done that yet, considering the success nintendo has with the wii.:?

Konami always seems to gravitate to the most successful console. I dont know how Sony got them to eat out of their hands but Nintendo needs to do that with more publishers.
