I had a Wii for some time, sold it when I was moving houses and consider buying it again since Metroid and Mario Galaxy came out. But theres just not enough Wii specific games to satisfy my (don't get me wrong, I like Wii sports etc. but thats not a reason for me to buy a system).

Another reason are GC games, and there are some amazing titles like RE1 and 0, Zelda Windwaker, MGS remake and couple of others. But again, having PS3 and 360 gives me most of those gaming experiences.

What I would really like to see on a Wii is more games like Metroid and Mario Galaxy. Games that are fresh and that exploit the Wii controls to the maximum.

Any chance I will be satisfied in the upcoming year ?

there are several games coming out for the wii that should be pretty good, such as lego batman, wario shake it, mushroom men, and several others. most of these games are coming out for other systems as well though so it really is tough to say to get another one if you already got rid of one. but the wii does still have some good games for hardcore games so do not overlook that.

I guess I'm not sure what you mean by "hardcore" but if you mean people who like to play games a lot I really enjoyed No More Heroes and RE4Wii. So it's probably not worth it for you to re-buy a Wii. I got my moneies worth from those two games alone.

Madworld is coming up, which I am looking forward to.

I'm a "hardcore" gamer and I only have a Wii and I'm satisfied by what the Wii offers me.

The problem here is that there's no such thing as "the hardcore" in the form of one amorphous blob with identical tastes and preferences. Heck, I would argue that there's no such thing as "the hardcore" at all. Nobody seems to agree on what the heck a hardcore gamer even is.

I've played video games since I started with the NES in 1990. I don't know if that makes me a hardcore gamer, but I'm very satisfied with the Wii nonetheless.

At this time, Wii to me seems more of a family game system..

It has it's good games but right now, it seems it's to packed with Mini games... I mean one or two are alright... But it seems more and more keep coming out.

:/

The hardcore will never be satisfied, it is human nature to want more.

Not another "hardcore" thread...

Can you even define that?

I know, I wish people would never use the term "hardcore" because It means something different to everyone.

As for Kc666, I say you shouldn't buy a Wii if you already had one and sold it.

It already satisfies the hardcore ( people who are stereo type gamers - ie. not soccer moms and grannys) .

You people and your gamer labels, we are all just gamers playing different games, and on the wii, we've got it pretty good now and in the future, the people that make these threads either are misinformed of what's coming out, or can't be satisfied in any way because their standards are too high.

Nintendo specifically marketed the NES as a family toy, going so far as to attempt to make the NES look more like a VCR and include the mom-please-buy R.O.B. toy.

Did the NES have great games? Sure. Did the NES has an incredibly overwhelming amount of 'casual' shovelware/Mario-platforming copycats. Absolutely! But look how 'hardcore' the NES is now.

Only Metroid and Galaxy!?!? There is also Zelda Twilight Princess and Okami (a game similar to Zelda. If you like one you'll probably like the other).

Wii already has a bunch of hardcore titles in Trauma Center, NMH, Brawl, Okami, Samba, etc.

On top of that, we know that games like Conduit, Madworld, and Pikmin are coming out next year. I think Wii is making it out just fine as a hardcore machine.

I've been playing Zelda:TW for some time when I had the Wii, but it wasn't as good as Wind Waker tbh.

Term hardcore in my opinion is caused by driving the game market to the masses (like Wii does). Hardcore gamers now, are the casual gamers from 3 years back. I always felt like a normal gamer, but since Wii / DS dominated the market, guys playing Resident Evil or Quake are now called hardcore ... yeah its funny but thats the name distributed by the media.

I played Okami on PS2 and always wanted to try on Wii, so thats the third game motivating me to get a Wii : ) Thx for a reminder.

I sold the Wii in the first place, cause I moved to a new house and started my "adult life" or whatever. The case is, that I haven't had a sufficient TV (size-wise, cause playing Wii on a 20 inch flat panel is not worth it) to bother until now. And that's why I ask : )

Games that exploit the use of the Wiimote:
- Zack and Wiki
- Trauma Center: New Blood/Second Opinion
- Medal of Honor: Heroes 2
- Bully: Scholarship Edition
- The Godfather: Blackhand Edition
- Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
- Boom Blox

All of these titles are already out and do a great job of using the Wiimote/Nunchuck. Check them out.
