I was wondering, say a game comes out for WiiWare and is 1500 points. After a year or so of being out do you think the prices will start to drop on that game since it is no longer new like they do in a retail store?

Wow, that's really not a question that can be answered. We have no idea what WiiWare is going to be like, or how they're marketing these games, or anything like that.

I suppose though, in contrast to the VC titles, the developers of the WiiWare titles would have a say in that. They may be able to decide if they want to mark down the price in order to entice more people. We don't know exactly how it'll work.

Who knows? But when WiiWare finally does launch I cant wait to try out Final Fantasy, or any other ones. I hope they will have downloadable content for other games. Like Rockband. Be kinda cool if we could get some downloadable characters for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. But how would they do that ya know? oh well I can dream....

Reason why xbox live titles drop is incredibly piss poor sales. The newer games suffer so much that numerous developers have spoken out against Microsoft and are flocking to wiiware.

Neither Microsoft nor Sony release sales figures instead they release download figures that include any type of file but don't break it down. So system updates are counted along with demos.

Nintendo on the other hand does release sales figures of the vc and each month it is about 600,000. As for how much money made Nintendo did release a figure for themselves of 33 million. Note this would be after operating costs, licensing fees etc all the fees were done as well as taxes so likely it could have made Nintendo pre everything 200-300 mill.

It isn't cheap to put a title on the vc they have to bug test, get it rated, do licensing/royalties, put in the electronic manual, pay for bandwidth all that can cost tens of thousands of dollars at least. Once there it's just a split in who gets what with likely Nintendo taken a few dollars each purchase to cover bandwidth, maintancence etc.

Several companies are enthustically supporting the vc and wiiware since it has made them quite a bit of change such as Hudson who has over ten wiiware titles in development and is pushing more imports on the vc.

Likely DLC prices may drop but I don't think it will occur with the same crashing effects we see on xbox live prices where several games are now free or were given away.
