I definately wont. While I've been waiting for this game to come out for a while now, I'm still 75% sure it will suck :(. I HOPE I'm wrong though... we'll see though. If reviews are 80%+ I'll get it, if not, no thanks. (Yes, opinion does not equal fact, but if most professional reviewers think it sucks, I wont take my chances ;) ).
Buying the day it comes out. Dunno if it's gonna be reviewed before or after that day.m_machine024hopefully ign has the review up by monday
Do you plan on buying Sonic the same day or will you wait till it is reviewed and are sure about it?Your statement above says wait until it is reviewed and are sure about it? Why do you need somone else to tell you it is good, and ok for you to buy it? You should buy a game cause YOU like it, not because of a reviewer sayin they like it. Look at Rocky Horror Picture Show --- Nobody reviewed it good and it is still playin all over the world makin tons of money and a cult of fans. And then look at some of the recent reviews sayin a game sucked when it was great, or that a game was great and then it sucked. C'mon reviewers are paid to do a job and are slanted mostly to one system or another. PERIOD. The only review I trust is when I rent a game and try it and then like enough to buy it. I am the only reviewer I trust. And I don't think you should only buy a game when someone tells you it is ok to do so.

DEFINETLY going to wait for review. actually im wasnt going to buy it at all. but definetly a rental. the game seems like it would be beaten far too quickly. so im going to rent it, beat it, and have a great time. if u listen to the wiik in review podcast from this week matt casamencina says its a really good game it just has some issues. my money is going towards more important games, like GOW 2

Because the game could get a 1.0 and suck horribly and be a waste of money. thats why u wait for reviews. and the rocky horror picture show is a horrible movie IMO.
i never was a huge sonic fan, so no, i wont buy this game before its reviewed. i dont even think ill buy it, but i will definately rent it.
I listened to the wiik-in review podcast, and matt and the gang said it wasn't too great becuase of some of the design choices...so i'll just wait for their review.
Reasons why this Sonic will get under 8.0:
1. Shallow 'minigame' multiplayer
2. IGN have said that some parts are just unfairly frustrating with some poorly thought-out design choices
3. When it's not on a straight path, you don't always know where you're heading and in which direction which leads to confusion and sonic dieing.
4. Some missions often repeat themselves in level structure
I preordered it. This one is going to be different because this is the first time sonic is the character to choice from. He has different skills. WllDan7
I'm amazed at how some people still think it may suck. It may not be mind blowing, but from every trailer, pic, info and hands on, it's clear it won't suck at all.Wintry_Flutist

With info and hands ons, that you conveniently didn't mention, yes.
you listened to the IGN Wiikely podcast didn't you lol What it comes down to is this. Whos going to buy the game? You are. Whos going to play the game? You are. Who's going to enjoy the game or hate the game? You are. The reviewers opinion is just that; its just an opinion, and its not even yours! I don't let them tell me what I like and don't like. I mean, I, and I'm sure you all, know exactly what the game will be like, how the gameplay works and such, so you already know if you're going to get it or not.Reasons why this Sonic will get under 8.0:

I'm yet to see a game with so many positive hands ons to suck. Maybe not mind blowing, indeed, but suck?

Not hyping a game is fair enough, but several people here have reached pessimism, and seem like wanting other people to join their muttering.

You know what, that is exactly my point... Rocky Horror does suck... to normal people, but to 10's of thousands of others, it is another Star Wars, which IMO sucks more than movies ever released but keeps making money. So a game is rated 1.0 by a couple of people in a room somewhere, what does that mean to me or you? Does it absolutely definitively mean that WE won't like the game? No... take for example all of the maddens and all of the NCAA football games.... they all got big ratings before launch and the only one out of any of them that is aorth its money is NCAA 05 for Xbox... the rest blow. But they all got big numbers, just like Halo, or MP, or any of those other games, that IMO are junk. But it is just that--- "My Opinion" which is all a rating is "somone elses OPINION", and there is no way I base my purchase or time of purchase on wether or not a game has been rated, and how high or low it was rated by one or two different people. Ask yourself this, how many times has a game been rated low and you loved, or even how many times was a game rated HI and you felt like you had been ripped off... that is all I'm saying, and that was the OP question... Wait for the review or buy it opening day.Minigames shouldn't lower the overall score. They should be consider as bonuses.Reasons why this Sonic will get under 8.0:

Maybe it don't live up to the hype and they all agree it's good.
