No and i dont think i would bother even if my ds lite wasnt in perfect working order.
My main problem with it is the power button. I havent used one obviously but i heard the power buttonwould be towards the left of the screen seems to me very stupid. If your not using a stylus your thumb rests there and also press down alot. I can see games being turned of mid play makes no sence to me to move it there.
if youre thec type to throw around money like that, buy it to give Nin. more money to make better games.
otherwise, don't even consider it
That's where you're wrong. The DSi's power button is pretty stiff so that you'll never accidentally press it. So unless you are holding it from the bottom and gripping the thing for dear life, there will be no problem except that it's ugly. Also, it has come to my attention that the DSi has a confirmed release date of 4/04/09. Probably old news, but still, it's great that it's coming out so soon. Less than 2 weeks after my birthday so I'll definately have the money to buy one...No and i dont think i would bother even if my ds lite wasnt in perfect working order.

I would. i havent upgraded( exept sp to ds) at all.i still have my old ds and my old psp. my ipod is busted. i have tons of sd cards. and the picture thing is pretty freackin' sweet. all the downloadable games means i cant lose them! its the same build in size(almost) and i dont care what it looks like.
das pretty much it
i will because i'm giving up the ghost of the GBA coz its 2009, i have a GBA anyway, the DSi ware titles are a good exchange it has a SDHC card slot with up 32GB storage, flash memory, bigger screens, better wifi, good D-Pad, thinner, better sound, and better hardware
i think nintendo is going to sneak the DSi as a full blown new handheld after it sells well, its past a million already in japan, in america its rumored to come out with Pokemon Platnium, which comes out march 22nd so if the april DSi release rumors are true expect nintendo to stop shipping lites in march to use platnium to promote this
also, there are rumors the DSi will have its own VC and if it does play GBA games through emulation (conicidentally the DSi has the DS's CPU and another new CPU which is more powerful, but no one's been able to get a precise clock speed, estimates have it anywhere from 133mhz to 400mhz, also it has at least 16mb RAM maybe more) if the DSi can emulate GBA games it would have to have a CPU 10 times faster than that of the GBA from what i've read, but i'm no expert i've just been reading what the experts say
i could see the DSi sells well all through 2009, then at the Nintendo conference in october they say new DSi only retail games will come out, using the SDHC card drive, games will be able to use up to 4gb, 8gb, 16gb depending on how much the dev needs and nintendo reveals the DSi really has Dreamcast, or PSP, or GameCube like hardware showing much better graphics, more players online, etc.
i'm saying, all the pieces are there but nintendo is always coy about this stuff
I have a DS Lite and that's all I need. I've never "upgraded" any of my handhelds or consoles before, and I'm not doing it this time.LordAndrew
you bought the upgraded brighter slimmer DS lite instead of a used phat DS, which would've been cheaper

Oh, you mean like the SD card slot that is sooo popular and widely used among wii devs? /sarcasm
It will take at least 1 year for devs to use the card drive (with Nintendo's crappy software engineering), and since it is flash memory and not hard drive memory, it won't be quite as effective. Also, since the DSi has the same graphic capabilities and is only slightly powerful than the DS Lite, I doubt devs will even use the card slot for anything else other than DLC.
Besides, DSi only games won't sell for lite users, and devs would be fools to give up on such a HUGE userbase (80+ million). So, yeah, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!
No way! Dont waste your money on a DSi if you have a DS Lite that is in perfect condition. I've have a DS Lite and that's all that I need. Where's that common sense all human beings are supposed to have?!

Yes, I supposed I could have. But I would never buy a used DS, period. For me, the DS Lite was a significant enough upgrade over the original DS for me to pay the extra cash. Had I already owned a DS, I wouldn't have even considered it though.Nah. I've decided that the DS lite suits me fine. Game downloads are tempting, but I'll just wait until the actual next gen handheld for those.
