Either I will pick it up at midnight launch, plug it in, sleep til morning to play it or just wait until that morning to pick it up.

I'm going to plug it in immediately and play it. I'll be using my DSi charger so the 3DS one will be mint.

My plan is open box turn it on to see just how much battery life it actually has, then from there if itis 1/2 battery or more I plan to play my 3ds till the battery almost dies... Reasom for this is the 3ds has alithium ion battery which is the same type used in most smartphones/cellphones.. With my blackberry i used my phone till the battery was almost completely dead then charged it and repeated this 3-4 more times, reason being alithium ion battery needs to be programed in a way , so if it has a 1/2 charged battery when you start your charge then the battery will remember this and each time your system/phone gets to only 1/2 battery then it will shut off and think your battery is completely dead... The people whom work for blackberry were the ones whom told me about the battery issues and the way around it.. I did as they said and used it till fully dead then charged it to full and repeated this 3-4 more times and I have yet to have any issue with my blackberry, on average my battery last like 9-10 hours (talk time) on my blackberry now.. So given that a 3ds uses the same type of battery I am going to do the exact same as I did with my blackberry.. and if for some odd reason it doesnt work then I guess I'll just have to buy a new battery lol (yes I am that convinced it shall work the same charging wise as my blackberry). Hope that all made sense, as I tend to run thoughts together at times :P

and yes I am aware that a blackberry is a smartphone and the 3ds is a gaming system, but like i said the battery is the same for both.

This is interesting because its one of those questions that I want to ask and never have. I think I'll charge mine first and play at the same time after putting on scrn protectors. Ill probably put at least 2hrs into sf4 that night, maybe some time into pkmn white as well :P

I think I will. I don't want to waste the battery for only an hour or so.

First thing i'm gonna do is plug it in and turn it on. Then i'll try out the AR cards. Then i'll go ahead and make a sandwich. After that I guess i'll just play the 3DS some more and show some people the 3D to get there reactions. Then I won't let them play and i'll try out some online SSFIV.

I don't want my 3ds battery to have a half-life. Too many times I've made that mistake with other electronic devices. That's why I'm gonna charge it fully as soon as i take it out of the box. Unless you want to be shelling out for a new battery within a year, i suggest people do the same.

Don't really have a choice since life screwed me and set me up with an extra long work shift on launch day

At least I can pick it up that morning
