Personally, I'm excited.
What are your thoughts about the latest addition to SH?

Absolutely!
I love te series. Not as good as Resident Evil but definitely scarier. The graphics look unreal. The new reactionary engine and removal of combat also take this game up a notch. I'm hoping for goty contention.
Unfortunately, I'll be passing up on this one. I've never been a fan of Silent Hill or survival-horror games in particular, and since it's not an RE4-like transformation, I don't think this one will be changing my mind. Depending on how the final product holds up, though, I might consider renting it. :)
Im a huge SH fan, loved 1,2,3 and after that all has gone to ^%$&*&^%$%#@!!!! 4,5, psp/ps2 are compleat filiures. If kids where making it would have turned out better, so i really dont have high hopes for this one, i like it in a way coz you have to avoid the enemies but i think it will turn out a bit linear in that kind of a way (no boss fights?), i so wish that its epic but i have a feeling it will be one play and never to return again...

and since it's not an RE4-like transformation,
goblaa
...except it totally is.
I guess he probably didn't talk about the camera angle, but rather that he wants it to become a mediocre shooter like RE5 :-|
Looks great, and I might get it. Games do tend to scare me easily, though, and Silent Hill is the series that have scared me the most.. I'm not sure how much fun I think it is to poop my pants, so I'm at least waiting for the reviews before I make my decision.

Making a little too much out of my comment, I think. I will say that if the game was a bit more action-packed, it might be easier for me to consider, but that's definitely not a given. I just can't say I buy games on scare factor, so the idea of going around simply solving puzzles (although I like puzzles in general) and running away from enemies that probably won't get to me emotionally doesn't really appeal to my gaming persona. Still, if you want to compare my feelings towards this game and Resident Evil 4 (still haven't played 5, so I don't know how that one is), RE4 was different not only because it was more action-oriented (if that was solely the case, I would be going crazy about Darkside Chronicles, which I have no interest in), but also because it turned a lot of the series/genre's traditional 'shortcomings', if you will, on its head. That game was willing to forgo some things that fans may have actually liked to become the best game possible, which is something you don't see often. The fact that I loved this game, despite never having interest in the series prior to it, says plenty in my book.
Shattered Memories, on the other hand, while it also steps away from some of those control/camera issues, it's still very much a traditional survival horror affair from all that I've gathered. I realize that's great for fans of the genre, many of whom worry that survival-horror games are becoming too action-focused and not so great on the scare aspect. However, it's just not what I'm into, and it doesn't appear to have that one major tranformation that'll get my interest. *shrugs*
[QUOTE="DDRMom"][QUOTE="Litchie"]I don't play games that scare me either so I won't be getting this one. Please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't get scared by games :( Do movies scare you? I think it's actually scarier with a really creepy game than a movie. Not sure why. Maybe because controlling a character makes you feel like it's you in the game, somewhat. Games like F.E.A.R., for example, doesn't scare me at all, but games with a creepy atmosphere, such as the Silent Hill series, always makes me wonder if I should give it a shot or not.Looks great, and I might get it. Blood and gore I can handle it's the things the mess with your mind that freak me out too.
Yes. I already have it pre-ordered.
Watching the videos definitely has gotten me excited. I'm kind of interested how the whole psychological thing will work out. The deal with "the game watching you and catering to your fears" seems intriguing, and my psyche's pretty fragile enough as it is when it comes to horror games. Definitely looking forward to that. :P
I personally think it looks like one of the most polished games on Wii in pretty much every single way so I'll definately be getting it.
Most definitely I will....
this is one of the best looking games on the Wii, and it really seems to make good use of the controls. I also like how you can look around when NPC's are talking to you. I think that's brilliant!
I also like how there are no weapons... it's actually a real fight for suvival. I mean I loved the old Resident Evil games, but it lost some spookiness imo for having things just laying around. If you're going for a sci-fi realism look, that's not realistic. Fighting for your life is
Not sure but I don't like that it's developed by western companies instead of been developed in Japan Team Silent no longer develop it Slient Hill 1 and 2 I really did like they were scary after getting new developers on the last few games I find it hard to get into the game I don't think they are as scary anymore.
